Yolanda
Jones
American-Puerto Rican forward Yolanda Jones (184-F-84) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked PeKa, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 22.
The 27-year old player had a double-double of 19 points and 12 rebounds, while her team beat FoA (#4, 12-10) 93-78. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. PeKa maintains the 2nd position in Finnish SM-sarja. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. PeKa will need more victories to improve their 16-6 record. Jones just recently signed at PeKa, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Yolanda Jones averages this season 19.8ppg and 15.5rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was 24-year old American Madina Ali (182-F-87) of Huima. Ali had a very good evening with 22 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Of course she lead Huima to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked HoNsU (#7, 6-16) 82-60. Huima's 3rd position in the standings has not changed. Her team's 16-6 record is not bad at all. Ali is a newcomer at Huima, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Centhya Hart (185-F-89) of Kerava (#8). Hart scored 16 points and grabbed twenty rebounds (!!!). Despite Hart's great performance Kerava lost 57-77 to slightly higher-ranked ToPo (#6, 7-15). But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates. Kerava can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 1-21 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Too bad for Hart she does not play for a better team. But maybe if she did, her season stats would not be that high. Hart has individually a great season in Finland. After 21 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 11.9rpg (3rd best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Kaihla Szunko (187-F-88) of ToPo - 13 points and 16 rebounds
5. Laura Saarinen (187-F/C-92) of ToPo - 12 points and 13 rebounds
6. Alexandria Anderson (185-G/F-86) of Catz - 21 points and 6 rebounds
7. Kirby Copeland (182-G-85) of Catz - 13 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists
8. Patrice Holmes (178-G) of Huima - 16 points and 7 rebounds
9. Sanna Jamsen (183-F-79) of Huima - 13 points and 9 rebounds
10. Siarre Evans (178-G/F-88) of FoA - 21 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
