Kenneth Lowe
Korisliiga, semi-finals, Game # 4: Kataja (Joensuu) has made it to the Finals - like last season. Tonight Kataja visited in Helsinki and crushed Torpan Pojat 66-85 (34-51). Quarters: 15-28, 19-23, 12-18, 20-16. Practically the game was over in 20 minutes. Kataja was better in everything. Some spectators were asking during the half time: How it was possible Kataja lost at home last Wednesday by 39 points!? Kataja - ToPo 3-1. Jared Newson (195-G/F-84, agency: Pro One Sports, college: Tenn-Martin) and Sami Lehtoranta (205-C/F-79) were Kataja's key players this time. ToPo had again only two players over 10 pts.
In Tampere local Pyrinto defeated Bisons (Loimaa) 90-69 (48-31). Quarters: 23-16, 25-15, 21-23, 21-15. This result means these two teams are tied 2-2 now and Game # 5 will be needed. The winner of coming Sunday 'fight' will meet Kataja in the Finals. Bisons will have the home court advantage - if there is any home court advantage at all? Pyrinto succeeded especially in defense tonight. Sharpshooters Mikko Koivisto (194-G-87, college: NC-Greensboro) (0 pts) and Matti Nuutinen (200-F-90) (6 pts) were guarded very well this time. And Kenneth Lowe (192-G-80, college: Purdue) was finally on his own level. Lowe scored game high 26 pts.

ToPo - Kataja 66-85 (34-51). (Justin Hawkins 17, Ronnie Clark 10, Eero Lehtinen 8 - Jared Newson 17/7, Juho Nenonen 16, Sami Lehtoranta 15. A: 1241).
Pyrinto - Bisons 90-69 (48-31). (Kenneth Lowe 26, Damon Williams 16/11/5a, Antero Lehto 12 - Ryan McDade 23, Ville Makalainen 14, Martin Zeno 12/7, Jeb Ivey 11. A: 1156).
