Ukraine escaped with 50-49 thriller win against Finland today in Tallinn. It means that Ukraine will meet Poland for the fifth place at U16 EuroBasket Division B. Finland will play against Slovenia for position No.7. Both games will be played tomorrow, which is the last day of the championship in Tallinn. Anastasiya Polovynka (176-G-96) led the winners with 13 points and 9 rebounds, while Vita Gorobets (180-SG-96) added 12 pts and 10 rebs. Olga Yatskovets (181-C-97) collected 7 points and 15 rebounds. In Finland, Tuuli Menna (183-F-96) (11 rebs) and Emilia Helle (169-PG-96) netted 13 points each. Veera Valimaa (182-F-96) followed them with 11 points and 8 rebs. Ukraine had 39-46 lead at the halfway of the last period, but Finland tied the score to 48-48 with 1:41 minutes to go. For rest of the way, Polovynka scored two free throws for Ukraine and Menna had one for Finland. Quarters: 7-14, 10-7, 14-14, 18-15.
