Finland occupied the third position at the Beko SuperCup international tournament in Germany. They knocked down Turkey on the final day of the competition. Mikko Koivisto (194-G-87, college: NC-Greensboro) stepped up with 18 points to lead well-balanced effort from the Finnish team.
The teams stayed close throughout the opening quarter. The scoreboard read 25:25 after ten minutes. Finland exploded with 34 points in the second term to clear off. They piled up an 18-point lead at halftime. Turkey stopped the rot in the third term. They slowed their opponents down but managed to cut the deficit by a single point. Turkey got within 16 points in the final stanza but Finland stayed comfortably in charge and cruised to the victory at the end. Shawn Huff (198-G/F-84, college: Valparaiso) posted 17 points, while Gerald Lee (208-F-87, college: ODU) contributed 13 points for the winners. Ilkan Karaman (205-F-90, agency: Beo Basket) answered with 12 points and 12 rebounds for Turkey. Safak Edge (188-PG-92) and Kerem Gonlum (208-PF-77) chipped in 10 points each in the loss.

Moncada Solar Agrigento (Serie A2) tabbed 26-year old American power forward Damen Bell-Holter (206-111kg-90, college: ORU). He played most recently at Lapuan Korikobrat in Finnish Korisliiga. In 29 games he averaged 14.0ppg and 8.6rpg last season.
