The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with change at the leadership position and favorites losing the games.

1st Division round 7 caused change at the leadership position. Second defeat of league's leader TuNMKY (5-2) against eighth ranked Espoo Basket (2-5) 95-87 was the most important game of the last round. Espoo Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to TuNMKY's 30. They outrebounded TuNMKY 58-35 including a 42-29 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Oscar Andersen (195-93) who helped to win the game recording 31 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Power forward Joonas Suotamo (209-86, college: Penn St.) contributed with 9 points, 17 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Espoo Basket's coach Markku Siironen used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Sakari Salminen (200-87) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists for TuNMKY. Espoo Basket moved-up to seventh place in Division. TuNMKY at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the second position with two games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Porvoon Tarmo. TuNMKY will play next round against BC Jyvaskyla trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Espoo Basket will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked KaU Koris in Karkkila.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Oulun NMKY (3-3) against eighth ranked Aanekosken Huima (3-3) on Sunday night. Visiting Oulun NMKY was defeated by Aanekosken Huima in a tough game in Aanekoski 71-76. American players dominated the game. It was a great evening for guard Andre Stephens (180-87, college: S.Mississippi) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. DeAndre Mays helped adding 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Aanekosken Huima's coach Derrick Crayton allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side swingman Dwight Coleman (203-84, college: Dallas Baptist) responded with 16 points and 9 rebounds. Aanekosken Huima moved-up to fourth place in Division. Aanekosken Huima will play against higher ranked Torpan Pojat (#3) in Helsinki in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Oulun NMKY will have a break next round.
1st Division top team - Porvoon Tarmo (6-1) managed to deliver another win on Sunday. This time they beat sixth ranked Saynatsalon Riento (2-4) 78-68. American players dominated also this game. It was a quality performance for Jerrah Young who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds. Nicholas Pederson came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds for Saynatsalon Riento in the defeat. Saynatsalon Riento's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Porvoon Tarmo maintains first place in Division with 6-1 record. Loser Saynatsalon Riento dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. Porvoon Tarmo will meet at home league's second-placed Tapiolan Honka in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Saynatsalon Riento will play against Pyrinto II (#5) in Tampere and hope to secure a win.
Bottom-ranked Ura Basket is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their sixth consecutive match to seventh ranked Pyrinto II (3-3) 99-94. Joni Harjula fired 28 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Pyrinto II moved-up to fifth place in Division. Ura Basket at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. Pyrinto II's next round opponent will be Saynatsalon Riento (#8) in Jyvaskyla. Ura Basket will play at home against BC Nokia and hopes to get finally their first victory.
The game in Karkkila supposed to be also quite interesting. 4th placed HBA-Marsky (3-4) played at the court of fifth ranked KaU Koris (4-3). KaU Koris smashed HBA-Marsky 103-81 on Sunday. It was a very good performance for Sami Syrjala who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 15 rebounds. HBA-Marsky's coach Anton Mirolybov gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. KaU Koris moved-up to fourth place in Division. Loser HBA-Marsky dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. KaU Koris will face Espoo Basket (#7) on the road in the next round. HBA-Marsky will play against JyWe in Jyvaskyla and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Other games in round 7 were not that significant.
In Division BC Nokia was smashed by Tapiolan Honka on the road 108-80. Jarvenpaa lost to JyWe on its own court 71-78. Kerava ET outscored BC Jyvaskyla in a road game 98-78.
The most impressive performance of 7th round was 22 points and 18 rebounds by Harri Keskitalo of JyWe.


Group A
Tapiolan Honka - BC Nokia 108-80

The game between closely ranked teams ended with fourth ranked Tapiolan Honka's (4-2) home victory over 5th ranked BC Nokia (2-3) 108-80 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Tapiolan Honka. BC Nokia was better in fourth quarter 28-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tapiolan Honka dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to BC Nokia's 48. It was a great shooting night for Tapiolan Honka especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. It was a very good performance for American forward Eric Brennan (201-89, college: Kutztown) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. The former international Tuomas Iisalo (195-82, agency: Court Side) contributed with 22 points for the winners. Five Tapiolan Honka players scored in double figures. American power forward Brian Moultrie (198-87, college: Armstr.Atlantic) answered with 23 points and 8 rebounds and guard Timo Riihela (193-80) added 12 points in the effort for BC Nokia. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tapiolan Honka moved-up to second place in Division. Loser BC Nokia dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. Tapiolan Honka will face league's leader Porvoon Tarmo on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. BC Nokia will play against Ura Basket (#9) in Kaarina and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Porvoon Tarmo forced 22 Saynatsalon Riento turnovers. American players dominated also this game. It was a quality performance for forward Jerrah Young (201-85, college: Toledo) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Isaiah Tate (192-89, college: George Mason) accounted for 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Young is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Rather expected game when 6th ranked Jarvenpaa (2-5) lost at home to third ranked JyWe (5-2) 78-71 on Sunday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-16. But Jarvenpaa won second period 22-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. JyWe dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Jarvenpaa's 34. They outrebounded Jarvenpaa 49-26 including a 35-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Jarvenpaa was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for center Harri Keskitalo (210-90) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 18 rebounds. Forward Ville Pyykkonen (203-77) contributed with 19 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Very predictable result when second ranked Kerava Energia Team (5-2) rolled over on the road 7th ranked BC Jyvaskyla (2-5) 98-78 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 17-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 98-78. Kerava Energia Team made 25-of-29 free shots (86.2 percent) during the game. BC Jyvaskyla was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for Cameroonian power forward Rudolf Mua (201-80) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 8 rebounds. point guard Robert Juvonen (185-91) contributed with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Five Kerava Energia Team players scored in double figures.
