Division 1A, round 6: Ura Basket (Kaarina) is still without the first victory of this season. Today Team Ura Basket had a 20-point-lead (54-34) during the half time vs Pyrinto II (Tampere), but Joni Harjula (189-G-83) tied the game (87-87) at the buzzer and OT was needed. Pyrinto II scored then five points more than the hosts and won 94-99 (87) (54-34). Bobby Nash (198-G/F-84) led Ura Basket (0-6) with a double-double 23pts/14rbs. Harjula netted 28 points for Pyrinto II (3-3).
Honka (Tapiola) crushed BC Nokia 108-80 (58-33) and Tuomas Iisalo (195-SF-82, agency: Court Side) led the hosts with 22 pts. Eric Brennan (201-F-89, college: Kutztown) added 18pts/12rbs for Honka. Brian Moultrie (198-C/F-87, college: Armstr.Atlantic) led again BC Nokia. This time no double-double for Moultrie, but 23pts/8rbs anyway. Huima (Aanekoski) beat YMCA Oulu 76-71 (38-39). Andre Stephens (180-G-87, college: S.Mississippi) led Huima with 21pts/11rbs. Pena Ranta (182-PG-81) scored his season high 21 pts. Jari Vanttaja (209-F/C-86, college: Baylor) led YMCA Oulu with 19 pts. And in Porvoo local Tarmo (6-1) defeated Riento from Saynatsalo 78-68 (37-27). Tarmo's two Americans Jerrah Young (201-F-85, college: Toledo) and Isaiah Tate (192-G-89, college: George Mason) combined 43pts/20rbs. Eryk Thomas (200-C/F-85, college: E.Tenn.St.) led SayRi (2-4) with 18 pts.

Helsinki Seagulls - Kataja Basket 67-84 Kataja Basket rallied past Helsinki Seagulls to take 3-1 lead. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Joensuun Kataja's pressure prevailed and they won that period 32-16 extending their advantage to 17 points. Aris Thessaloniki (A1) inked 25-year old American guard Antwan Scott (188-81kg-92, college: Colorado State). He played recently at KTP Basket in Finnish Korisliiga. In 14 games he averaged impressive 22.0ppg, 4.5rpg, 2.9apg and 1.6spg this season. Scott also played for New Heroes Basketball Den Bosch in Holland earlier that season where in 11 Eredivisie games he had very remarkable stats: 20.6ppg, 4.5rpg, 5.5apg and 2.3spg. Kataja Basket - Helsinki Seagulls 105-80 Kataja Basket cruised past Helsinki Seagulls to take 2-1 lead. The game was mostly controlled by Joensuun Kataja. Helsinki Seagulls managed to win third quarter 23-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening.
