22-year old center Harri Keskitalo (210-C-90) put on an amazing game in the last round for JyWe and receives a Eurobasket.com 1st Division Player of the Week award for round 7. He had a double-double of 22 points and 18 rebounds, while his team beat Jarvenpaa (#8, 2-5) 78-71. JyWe maintains the 3rd position in Finnish 1st Division. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. JyWe will need more victories to improve their 5-2 record. It's Keskitalo's second year at JyWe and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Keskitalo has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (5th best: 12.0rpg) and averages solid 2.1bpg and 55.7% FGP.
Second best performed player last round was Jerrah Young (201-F-85) of top-ranked Porvoon Tarmo. He is American forward in his first season at Porvoon Tarmo. Young is a newcomer at Porvoon Tarmo and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.7ppg (#4). He also registered 10.4 boards per game. Former The University of Toledo star Young is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.

He was a key player of KaU Koris, leading his team to a 103-81 easy win against slightly lower-ranked HBA-Marsky (#5, 3-4). KaU Koris needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams in group B. Their record at this point is 4 victories and 3 lost games. Syrjala has a great season in Finland. After only 7 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 12.9rpg (3rd best). He also has FGP: 57.4% and 3PT: 40.7%.

We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

The last preparation tournament before the championships will take place July 3rd-5th at the beautiful city of Rakvere and again against good competition Estonia, Ukraine and Lithuania. A real test for the young men, especially Lithuania.
Our championships (Group B) will take place July 12th-21st at Romania. There will also be some really good teams: Poland, Belgium.... Tough competition and a great challenge for my team. Our main goal is to produce players for the senior national team, but winning the tournament would be nice also..
After the U20 program I will have one week off before joining the senior national team. Extremely excited about that as well, life is good.

Karhu (Kauhajoki) recently signed with Bosnian PG Bojan Sarcevic (190-G-88) and Kataja (Joensuu) captured Finnish NT PG Teemu Rannikko (189-PG-80) with a 2-year-contract. Interesting times - at least in these four towns.
PG Bojan Sarcevic (190-G-88) from Bosnia and Herzegovina will start 2013-14 his 8th season on top level in Finland, but not anymore in Kotka. Sarcevic played two seasons on KTP roster, but the new host will be Karhu (Kauhajoki). The contract signed is model 1-year.
