The game in Lahti supposed to be quite interesting. Second ranked Loimaan Korikonkarit (8-2) played at the court of 8th ranked Namika Lahti (3-7). Loimaan Korikonkarit smashed Namika Lahti 83-58 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Loimaan Korikonkarit. Namika Lahti managed to win fourth quarter 21-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 24 personal fouls committed by Namika Lahti helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. International Matti Nuutinen (200-90) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points. American guard Martin Zeno (196-85, college: Texas Tech) contributed with 12 points and 4 assists for the winners. American power forward Louis Johnson (206-86, college: W.Illinois, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) answered with 16 points and 5 rebounds for Namika Lahti. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Loimaan Korikonkarit have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Defending champion maintains second place with 8-2 record behind leader Pyrinto. Namika Lahti lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with seven games lost. They share it with Salon Vilpas. Loimaan Korikonkarit are looking forward to face bottom-ranked UU-Korihait (#12) in Uusikaupunki in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Namika Lahti will play on the road against Joensuun Kataja (#3) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
The game in Lappeenranta was also worth to mention about. 6th ranked Kouvot (5-5) played at the court of seventh ranked LrNMKY (6-4). LrNMKY managed to secure a 8-point victory 112-104. It was a great evening for American guard Jason Conley (196-81, college: Missouri, agency: Warren Sports International) who led his team to a victory scoring 46 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds. Matthew Gibson helped adding 25 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. American swingman Chris Hester (192-79, college: E.Washington) responded with 29 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). LrNMKY moved-up to fifth place, which they share with KTP. Kouvot at the other side dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

In the last two games of round 11 Kauhajoki beat Lapua on the road 79-69. Bottom-ranked Korihait lost to Salon Vilpas on its own court 83-89.



Lapua - Kauhajoki 69-79

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Kauhajoen Karhu (7-3) beat on the road 11th ranked Lapuan Korikobrat (2-8) 79-69. The game without a history. Kauhajoen Karhu led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Lapuan Korikobrat's 32. Kauhajoen Karhu forced 19 Lapuan Korikobrat turnovers. It was a great evening for American power forward Tremaine Ford (206-86, college: CS Northridge) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Giordan Watson (178-85, college: Cent.Michigan, agency: Pro One Sports) helped adding 13 points and 5 rebounds. The former international Samuel Haanpaa (203-86) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and American guard Dominique Coleman (190-84, college: Colorado) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kauhajoen Karhu moved-up to third place, which they share with Kataja. Lapuan Korikobrat lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted Lapuan Korikobrat keeps the eleventh position with eight games lost. Kauhajoen Karhu will play against KTP-Basket (#5) in Kotka in the next round. Lapuan Korikobrat will have a break next round.

Rather expected game when 12th ranked UU-Korihait (2-9) lost to ninth ranked Salon Vilpas (3-7) in Uusikaupunki 83-89. UU-Korihait was ahead by 3 points at the halftime before a 27-17 third quarter run of Salon Vilpas. It was a great evening for American forward Shawn Atupem (200-89, college: Mt.St.Mary's) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Guard Eero Lehtinen (193-85) helped adding 15 points and 6 rebounds. American forward Chris Taft (208-85, college: Pittsburgh) responded with 14 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import forward Ramon Dyer (201-84, college: Houston) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Four Salon Vilpas and five UU-Korihait players scored in double figures. Salon Vilpas moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Namika Lahti. UU-Korihait at the other side stay at the bottom position with nine games lost. Salon Vilpas will play against Forssan Koripojat (#10) at home in the next round. UU-Korihait will play against the league's second-placed Loimaan Korikonkarit and will have a slim chance for a victory.

LrNMKY made 22-of-29 charity shots (75.9 percent) during the game. Kouvot was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American guard Jason Conley (196-81, college: Missouri, agency: Warren Sports International) who led his team to a victory scoring 46 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Matthew Gibson (196-84) helped adding 25 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Conley is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. BC Nokia (Korisliiga) agreed terms with 25-year old Bahamas international forward Kentwan Smith (203-93kg-91, college: Stetson). He played this summer at Fuerza Guinda de Nogales in Mexican CIBACOPA, but left the team in May. In 12 games he had 9.9ppg, 5.3rpg and 1.6apg.
