The game had a very big importance for second-ranked KaU Koris as it allowed them to take a leadership position in Division. KaU Koris defeated 8th ranked BC Jyvaskyla in Karkkila 76-58. The game was mostly controlled by KaU Koris. BC Jyvaskyla managed to win second period 21-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. KaU Koris looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by BC Jyvaskyla's players. 24 personal fouls committed by BC Jyvaskyla helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was forward Sami Syrjala (197-81) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 16 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). Center Lauri Jarvinen (185-85) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Nafis Ricks (188, college: Missouri St.) who recorded 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. BC Jyvaskyla at the other side keeps the eighth place with eight games lost. BC Jyvaskyla will play next round against Jarvenpaa trying to get back on the winning streak. KaU Koris will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked TuNMKY in Turun.
Top ranked TuNMKY (6-3) recorded its third loss in Turun. Hosts were rolled over by fifth ranked HBA-Marsky (5-4) 105-81. It was a good game for guard Joni Herrala (190-94) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 5 rebounds, 13 assists and 4 steals. Oskar Michelsen contributed with 32 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Forward Sakari Salminen (200-87) answered with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 14 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) for TuNMKY. TuNMKY's coach Ray Ailus gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. HBA-Marsky moved-up to fourth place in Division. Newly promoted TuNMKY dropped to the third position with three games lost. HBA-Marsky will play against league's second-placed Kerava Energia Team on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. TuNMKY will play against the league's leader KaU Koris in Karkkila and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An interesting game was played in Jyvaskyla where Kerava Energia Team (#4) beat host JyWe (#3) 82-77 on Sunday evening. It was a key game for the second position in Division. Arsene Towa stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Kerava Energia Team's coach Arsene Towa used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Ville Pyykkonen with 15 points and 9 rebounds. Kerava Energia Team (6-3) moved-up to second place in Division. JyWe at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. Kerava Energia Team will meet at home HBA-Marsky (#4) in the next round. JyWe's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Jyvaskyla BC Jyvaskyla.

Loser Ura Basket still closes the standings with eight games lost. Torpan Pojat will face Pyrinto II (#8) in Tampere in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Ura Basket will play at home against the league's second-placed Tapiolan Honka and hopes to get finally their first victory.

Other games of round 9 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
In Division Oulun NMKY defeated SayRi in a road game 94-77. BC Nokia beat Pyrinto II at home 86-70. Espoo Basket was destroyed by Jarvenpaa on the opponent's court 84-62.

Tapiolan Honka - Huima 108-88

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Aanekosken Huima (4-4) against fourth ranked Tapiolan Honka (5-3) on Sunday night. Visiting Aanekosken Huima was crushed by Tapiolan Honka in Tapiolan 108-88. It was a key game for the second position in Division. The game was mostly controlled by Tapiolan Honka. Aanekosken Huima was better in second period 26-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening.
