The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Tampereen Pyrinto (9-2) on the court of tenth ranked Forssan Koripojat on Thursday night. Visitors were defeated by Forssan Koripojat 85-78. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Tampereen Pyrinto. Tampereen Pyrinto trailed by 15 points after 3 quarters before a 24-16 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 78-85 at the end of the game. Forssan Koripojat made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. It was a good game for guard Sami Ikavalko (188-89) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 5 rebounds. American-Belizean point guard Charles Burgess (186-84, college: Texas Tech) contributed with 9 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American forward Damon Williams (201-73, college: Colorado St.-Pueblo, agency: Two Points) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists for Tampereen Pyrinto. Tampereen Pyrinto's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Forssan Koripojat (3-8) moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Namika Lahti. Tampereen Pyrinto at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. They share it with Nilan Bisons. Forssan Koripojat is looking forward to face bottom-ranked UU-Korihait (#12) in Uusikaupunki in the next round. Tampereen Pyrinto will play at home against Lapuan Korikobrat (#11) and is hoping to win this game.
Important game to mention about took place in Kauhajoki. Fifth ranked KTP-Basket (7-4) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging one of their biggest challengers Kauhajoen Karhu (7-4) 80-77 in the game for the fourth place. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Devonne Giles (203-83, college: Texas Tech) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and Antwine Williams who added 15 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was point guard Giordan Watson (178-85, college: Cent.Michigan, agency: Pro One Sports) with 21 points. KTP-Basket moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Kauhajoki. KTP-Basket will play against Kouvot (#7) in Kouvola in the next round. Kauhajoen Karhu will play at home against Namika Lahti and hopes to get back on the winning track.

They share the position with FoKoPo. Joensuun Kataja will meet at home league's second-placed Loimaan Korikonkarit in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Namika Lahti will play against Kauhajoen Karhu (#5) in Kauhajoki and hope to secure a win.

In the last two games of round 12 FoKoPo was smashed by Salon Vilpas on the road 99-74. Nilan Bisons destroyed Korihait on its own court 90-55.

The game between third ranked Joensuun Kataja (8-3) and 9th ranked Namika Lahti (3-8) in Joensuu on Sunday ended with biggest points difference. Joensuun Kataja outscored guests from Lahti 98-43. The game without a history. Joensuun Kataja led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Joensuun Kataja dominated on the defensive end, holding Namika Lahti to just 7 points in second quarter. Joensuun Kataja forced 21 Namika Lahti turnovers and outrebounded them 38-23 including 29 on the defensive glass. Joensuun Kataja shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. American players dominated also this game. The winners were led by swingman Jonte Flowers (196-85, college: Winona St., agency: Warren Sports International) who scored that evening 26 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Johnell Smith (180-80, college: New Orleans) supported him with 16 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. Four Joensuun Kataja players scored in double figures. Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Salon Vilpas and 10th ranked Forssan Koripojat had identical 3-7 record. This time Salon Vilpas used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Forssa 99-74 on Saturday night. The game without a history. Salon Vilpas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Forssan Koripojat's players. The winners were led by American forward Troy Barnies (200-89, college: Maine) who scored that evening 18 points and 5 assists and international guard Alex Vaenerberg (183-92) supported him with 14 points and 4 assists. Even 22 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) by American forward Jahmar Thorpe (198-84, college: Houston) did not help to save the game for Forssan Koripojat. American-Belizean point guard Charles Burgess (186-84, college: Texas Tech) added 16 points and 4 assists. Four Salon Vilpas and five Forssan Koripojat players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Salon Vilpas (4-7) moved-up to eighth place. Important game to mention about took place in Kauhajoki. Fifth ranked KTP-Basket (7-4) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging one of their biggest challengers Kauhajoen Karhu (7-4) 80-77 in the game for the fourth place. The guests were ahead by 3 points but lost the second period ending it with a 3-point deficit before their 24-18 run, which allowed them to win the game. KTP-Basket made 22-of-26 charity shots (84.6 percent) during the game. KTP-Basket outrebounded Kauhajoen Karhu 42-23 including 28 on the defensive glass. Kauhajoen Karhu was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American players dominated the game. Loimaan Korikonkarit led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Loimaan Korikonkarit outrebounded UU-Korihait 47-27 including a 36-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The winners were led by American guard Martin Zeno (196-85, college: Texas Tech) who scored that evening 21 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import forward Ryan McDade (201-80, college: N.Arizona) supported him with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Four Loimaan Korikonkarit players scored in double figures. Loimaan Korikonkarit's coach Greg Gibson felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 10 points and 9 rebounds by American forward Ramon Dyer (201-84, college: Houston) did not help to save the game for UU-Korihait. Mikael Herbert (205-93) added 12 points. Loimaan Korikonkarit have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Defending champion used an opportunity after Pyrinto lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Loser UU-Korihait stay at the bottom place with ten games lost. Loimaan Korikonkarit will meet Joensuun Kataja (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. UU-Korihait will play against Forssan Koripojat (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

BC Nokia (Korisliiga) agreed terms with 25-year old Bahamas international forward Kentwan Smith (203-93kg-91, college: Stetson). He played this summer at Fuerza Guinda de Nogales in Mexican CIBACOPA, but left the team in May. In 12 games he had 9.9ppg, 5.3rpg and 1.6apg.
