Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Finns who are currently playing abroad.

Petteri Koponen
Petteri Koponen
#1. This week's number one is an international point guard Petteri Koponen (194-88, currently plays in VTB United League). He managed to help BC Khimky Moscow Region in a victory against the ninth-ranked Kalev/Cramo (1-5) 77-67 in the VTB United League in Monday night's game. Koponen scored 5 points and added 4 passes in 21 minutes on the court. BC Khimky Moscow Region (5-1) is placed second in group A. It's Koponen's first season with the team. This year he averages: 4.2ppg, 1.3rpg, 2.5apg, 2FGP: 35.7%, 3FGP: 33.3% in the six games he played so far. Koponen is currently a member of the Finnish senior national team.

Gerald Lee
Gerald Lee
#2. Second place goes to an international center Gerald Lee (208-87, college: ODU, currently plays in Adriatic League). He led his Montenegrin team Buducnost to a victory over one of league's weakest teams KK Zadar (3-6) 76-60 in the Adriatic League last Saturday. Lee was MVP of the game. He scored 15 points and grabbed 4 rebounds; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Lee's third season in pro basketball. KK Buducnost Voli Podgorica (5-4) is placed fourth in the Adriatic League. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Lee has relatively good stats this year: 10.9ppg, 4.8rpg, 2FGP: 56.2%(41-73) and FT: 57.1%. He is a naturalized American. Lee is in the roster of the Finnish senior national team. Strangely he has never played in Finland.

Roope Ahonen
Roope Ahonen
#3. The Finnish player who performed third best last week abroad was an international guard Roope Ahonen (186-90, agency: FCM, currently plays in Sweden), who plays in the Swedish Basketligan. Ahonen could not help Solna Vikings (6-6) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Solna Vikings was edged 89-87 on the road by the lower-ranked (#8) LF Basket. Ahonen was the top scorer with 23 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) in 27 minutes. This year Ahonen has relatively solid stats: 10.4ppg, 1.7rpg, 3.8apg, 2FGP: 54.2%, 3FGP: 36.6% in the 12 games. He is also a member of the Finnish senior national team.

Teemu Rannikko
Teemu Rannikko
#4. Point guard Teemu Rannikko (189-80, currently plays in Adriatic League) was not able to help Un.Olimpija (4-5) in their game against Partizan (8-0) in the Adriatic League. Rannikko's contribution was not very remarkable in Monday's game. He scored only 2 points and added 4 assists. Un.Olimpija was defeated 86-82 at home by the leading Partizan. But the season just started, so everything may happen. Rannikko is currently fifth on the list of best passers. His overall stats this season are: 5.4ppg, 1.6rpg, 3.9apg and 1.4spg. Rannikko is also Finnish national team player.

Sasu Salin
Sasu Salin
#5. International guard Sasu Salin (192-91, currently plays in Euroleague) is a teammate of previously mentioned Teemu Rannikko. But that was another game of his team in Euroleague which we would like to mention. Salin contributed to a 2-point Un.Olimpija's victory against the closely-ranked Cantu (2-4) 81-79. He scored only 2 points in 12 minutes. Union Olimpija Ljubljana (2-4) is placed fifth in group A. They ended the series of four consecutive loses. This year Salin's overall stats are: 8.2ppg and 3.6rpg in the five games. He plays currently for the Finnish national team.

Ville Kaunisto
Ville Kaunisto
#6. Forward Ville Kaunisto (205-82, currently plays in France), who plays in the French NM1 (third division) was not able to secure a victory for Blois (6-1) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Kaunisto's good performance Blois was defeated 74-67 in La Rochelle by the lower-ranked La Rochelle (#9). He scored 12 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. But the season is still in it's first stage and everything can happen. Kaunisto belongs to league's top scorers (ranked #7) and also on the list of best rebounders (first place). He has individually a very good season with high stats. Kaunisto averages: 16.0ppg, 11.7rpg and 2.1apg. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Finnish National Team roster.

Shawn Huff
Shawn Huff
#7. International small forward Shawn Huff (198-84, college: Valparaiso, currently plays in Italy) couldn't help Vanoli Cremona (2-6) in their game against Armani Milano (4-4) in the Italian SerieA. Huff cannot count it as his best performance. He scored only 2 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 17 minutes. Vanoli Cremona was badly defeated 78-59 in Milano by the higher-ranked (#9) Armani. It was Vanoli Cremona's third consecutive loss in a row. But there are still lots of games to play and it's a long way to go. This year Huff's total stats are: 5.1ppg and 4.5rpg in the eight games. He is also Finnish national team player.

Lauri Toivonen
Lauri Toivonen
#8. Forward Lauri Toivonen (201-91, currently plays college basketball in the States) couldn't help the UTPA in their game against the Indiana Univ-Purdue Univ.-Ft.Wayne (0-0) in the NCAA. Toivonen cannot count Friday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only 2 points. The UTPA was edged in a triple overtime (!!!) 97-94 in Fort Wayne, IN by the Indiana Univ-Purdue Univ.-Ft.Wayne. Toivonen has averaged so far 5.1ppg and 4.5rpg. He used to play for the Finnish university national team last year.

Joonas Caven
Joonas Caven
#9. U20 international power forward Joonas Caven (211-93, currently plays in Spain) contributed to a Prat Juventud's victory against the closely-ranked Cafes Aitona (2-3) 59-47 in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division) on Saturday night. Caven scored only 2 points in 7 minutes on the court. CB Prat Juventud (2-4) is placed second from the bottom (#10) in the LEB Silver. Caven has averaged so far 5.2ppg and 3.0rpg in the five games. He is also in the roster of the Finnish U20 national team.

There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in Korisliiga. The round was rather attractive and full of interesting results. The round ended with favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin. An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Joensuu.
