Korisliiga, round 13: Tonigth's top contest in Joensuu, where local Kataja (9-3) defeated visitor Bisons from Loimaa 101-94 (43-37). Game MVP was Kataja's Julian Terrell (206-F/C-84, college: Vanderbilt), who played probably his best by now in Finland. Terrell had a double-double 32pts/10rbs in 35:20 minutes. Jonte Flowers (196-F/G-85, agency: Warren Sports International, college: Winona St.) added 23 and Johnell Smith (180-PG-80, college: New Orleans) 20 points. The victory # 400 for Kataja on top level. Martin Zeno (196-G-85, college: Texas Tech) again leading the Bisons (9-3) with 23 pts. Pyrinto (Tampere) beat Korikobrat (Lapua) 90-75 (43-36) despite the slow start. The second and third quarters were then Pyrinto show at the best. Pyrinto (10-2) again on the top of the league. Kenneth Lowe (192-G-80, college: Purdue) led Pyrinto with 22 pts. Lapua's newcomer Trey Hampton (203-F-87, agency: TSS Management, college: Georgia St.) had at once a double-double 18pts/12rbs. FoKoPo (Forssa) scored tiny 59 points at home and that was 18 pts less than visitor UU-Korihait (Uusikaupunki) had in this contest: 59-77 (27-46). Korihait (3-10) had five players in double digits. Mikko Jalonen (186-PG-82) netted game high 21 pts. And in TV-game Karhu (Kauhajoki) was four points better than YMCA Lahti: 79-75 (34-34).

MKS Dabrowa Gornicza (TBL) added to their roster 24-year old American guard Byron Wesley (196-95kg-92, college: Gonzaga). He already started the season at Kataja Basket in Finnish Korisliiga. In 6 games he recorded very impressive stats: 17.5ppg, 5.8rpg and 1.8apg this season. 25-year old guard Desmond Williams (199-G-91) had a great game in the last round for Salon Vilpas and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 14. He had the game-high 20 points adding nine rebounds and two assists for Salon Vilpas in his team's victory, helping them to beat BC Nokia (#4, 6-7) 90-83. The most surprising game was the first loss ofHelsinki Seagulls (11-1) in Uusikaupunki on Wednesday night. Visitors were defeated by tenth ranked UU-Korihait (4-8) 96-79. It ended at the same time the 11-game winning streak of Helsinki Seagulls.
