Terrell
American power forward Julian Terrell (206-F/C-84) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Kataja, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 13.
The 28-year old player had a double-double of 32 points and 10 rebounds, while his team beat Nilan Bisons (9-3) 101-94. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Kataja maintains the 3rd position in Finnish Korisliiga. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Kataja will need more victories to improve their 9-3 record. Terrell turned to be Kataja's top player in his first season with the team. Julian Terrell averages this season 17.5ppg and 8.5rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was 33-year old American Chris Hester (192-G/F-79) of Kouvot. Hester had a very good evening with a double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds. Of course he lead Kouvot to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Lapua (#12, 2-10) 106-67. Kouvot's 7th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 6-6 record is not bad and everything may still change. Hester is a newcomer at Kouvot, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.8ppg (#8). He also registered 6.3 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was Canadian Sefton Barrett (196-SF-83, agency: Limelight Hoops) of KTP (#4). Barrett scored 20 points and grabbed fifteen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of KTP, leading his team to a 81-68 easy win against the lower-ranked Kouvot (#7, 6-6). KTP needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 8 victories and 4 lost games. Barrett has a very solid season. In 12 games in Finland he scored 16.3ppg. He also has 6.2rpg, 1.8bpg and FGP: 50.4%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Shawn Atupem (200-F-89) of Salon Vilpas - 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists
5. Jason Conley (196-G-81) of LrNMKY - 19 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Tremaine Ford (206-F/C-86) of Kauhajoki - 13 points and 11 rebounds
7. Johnell Smith (180-PG-80) of Kataja - 20 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists
8. Jonte Flowers (196-F/G-85) of Kataja - 23 points, 4 rebounds and 7 assists
9. LaMarr Greer (196-G-76) of Kouvot - 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists
10. Ryan McDade (201-F-80) of Nilan Bisons - 8 points, 20 rebounds and 5 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
