The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with derby games, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

The most exciting game of round 10 in the 1st Division took place in Tampere. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of higher ranked Torpan Pojat (6-4) to eighth ranked Pyrinto II (4-5) 88-86 on Sunday evening. The hosts trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 27-18 charge, which allowed them to win the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Torpan Pojat helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Joni Harjula (189-83) who helped to win the game recording 22 points. Swingman Osku Heinonen (194-92) contributed with 10 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Pyrinto II's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward HL Coleman (202-74, college: Wyoming) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds for Torpan Pojat. Pyrinto II moved-up to seventh place in Division. Torpan Pojat at the other side dropped to the third position with four games lost. Pyrinto II are looking forward to face league's second-placed Tapiolan Honka on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Torpan Pojat will have a break next round.
Important game to mention about took place in Oulun. Third ranked Oulun NMKY (5-4) saved a 3-point victory at home edging one of their biggest challengers BC Nokia (4-4) 81-78 in the fight for the fourth place. American point guard Russell Frederick (185-88, college: Philadelphia) scored 30 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Dwight Coleman chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American power forward Brian Moultrie (198-87, college: Armstr.Atlantic) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 16 rebounds. Despite that victory Oulun NMKY went down to fourth position (Division) due to points difference. BC Nokia at the other side dropped to the fifth place with four games lost. Oulun NMKY will again play against BC Nokia (#5) on the road in the next round. BC Nokia will play against Saynatsalon Riento in Jyvaskyla and hopes to get back on the winning track.
A very close game took place in Jyvaskyla between Jarvenpaa and BC Jyvaskyla. Sixth ranked Jarvenpaa (5-5) got a very close victory on the road over 7th ranked BC Jyvaskyla (3-9). Jarvenpaa managed to escape with a 3-point win 90-87 on Sunday evening. Pierre Jallow notched a double-double by scoring 32 points and 18 rebounds to lead the effort. Even a double-double of 20 points and 20 rebounds by Michael Corpening did not help to save the game for BC Jyvaskyla. BC Jyvaskyla's coach Jari Laine tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Jarvenpaa moved-up to fifth place in Division. Loser BC Jyvaskyla dropped to the eighth position with nine games lost. Jarvenpaa will meet at home league's leader KaU Koris in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. BC Jyvaskyla will play against the league's leader KaU Koris (#1) in Karkkila and hope to secure a win.
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Jyvaskyla: BC Jyvaskyla (#7) and JyWe (#5). JyWe was defeated at home 67-79 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Nafis Ricks fired 24 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists and 6 steals (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners. BC Jyvaskyla's coach Jari Laine allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory BC Jyvaskyla went down to eighth position (Division) due to points difference. Newly promoted JyWe dropped to the sixth place with six games lost. BC Jyvaskyla's next round opponent will be league's leader KaU Koris in Karkkila and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Oulun NMKY (5-4) against fourth ranked Torpan Pojat (6-4) on Friday night. Visiting Oulun NMKY was crushed by Torpan Pojat in Helsinki 106-69. American players dominated the game. It was a very good performance for Marcus Capers who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Loser Oulun NMKY dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. Torpan Pojat will have a break next round. Oulun NMKY will play on the road against BC Nokia (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
