Division 1A, round 11: Basketball on Independent Day. Finland today 95 yo. Three games, and in one of them Ura Basket (Kaarina) winning first time this season. Ura Basket (1-10) defeats at home Huima (Aanekoski) 85-80 (41-37). Newcomer Paul Harrison (203-C-89, college: N.Greenville) helped at once by scoring 23 points and grabbing eight rebounds. Bobby Nash (198-G/F-84) had a double-double 23pts/11rbs. Nolan Richardson (188-G-84, college: Midwestern St.) had a new role and gave nine assists. Andre Stephens (202-F-87, college: S.Mississippi) led Huima (4-6) with 17 pts.
Torpan Pojat (Helsinki) made a visit to Central Finland and won on the road Riento at Saynatsalo 76-96 (47-39). ToPo (7-4) won also the rebounds (31-51) and had six out of seven players in double digits. HL Coleman (202-F-74, college: Wyoming) led again ToPo with 23pts/16rbs. C.J. Collins (180-G-88, college: McNeese St.) scored 19 pts for the hosts.
Tarmo (Porvoo) had to work this time harder to win in Tampere. Tough home team Pyrinto II lost finally vs Tarmo 65-79 (37-40). Topias Palmi (190-SG-94) (Pyrinto) netted game high 29 points, Joni Harjula (189-G-83) added 17 pts, but the rest were under six points. Tarmo's three American players combined 64 points and 24 rebounds. Vernon Taylor (190-G-87, college: Troy) led Tarmo (10-1) with 26 pts. Jerrah Young (201-F-85, college: Toledo) added 22 pts and took nine rbs.

American Forward Demondre Harvey (201-F-93) had a very impressive game in the last round for Oulun NMKY, receiving a Eurobasket.com 1st Division Player of the Week award for round 10. The 23-year old player had a double-double of 26 points and 19 rebounds, while his team beat Lahti (#2, 8-4) 85-74. Oulun NMKY maintains the 4th position in their group in Finnish 1st Division. There was no lack of excitement in the last round games. The round ended with defeat of the leader, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin. The game had a very big importance for second-ranked ToPo as it allowed them to take a leadership position in Division. ToPo defeated 5th ranked Forssan Koripojat in Helsinki 86-76. American Forward J'Nathan Bullock (196-F-87) had a very impressive game in the last round for Pyrinto, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 15. The 29-year old player was the main contributor (23 points, six rebounds) to his team's victory, helping them to edge out BC Nokia (#5, 6-8) 83-81.
