Korisliiga, round 16-17: Kouvot (Kouvola) and Karhu from Kauhajoki made their game a real thriller tonight at Kouvola with 15 lead changes and four ties. Giordan Watson's lay-up at 39:56 took Karhu into 91-92 lead, but after time out J'Nathan Bullock (196-F-87, agency: Pro One Sports, college: Cleveland St.) fouled Antto Nikkarinen (185-PG-91) with two seconds to go. Nikkarinen made both FTs and Kouvot (7-9) won 93-92 (52-41). Kouvot had only one foreigner player on the roster and Gilberto Clavell (201-F-89, agency: KMG Sports Management, college: Sam Houston St.) did his job very well: 34pts/8rbs. Nikkarinen added 19 pts and Aleksi Akpaso (192-SG-92) 16 pts. Jussi Eskola (189-G-87) led Karhu (10-6) with 20 pts.
At Forssa local FoKoPo defeated YMCA Lahti 81-75 (43-39). FoKoPo's three American players combined 58 points. Jahmar Thorpe (198-F-84, college: Houston) scored game high 20 pts together with Louis Johnson (206-F/C-86, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management, college: W.Illinois) (Lahti) 20 pts as well. Newcomer Thomas Kelley (188-G-77, agency: TSS Management, college: Michigan St.), replacing Emmanuel Holloway (183-G-86, college: Illinois St.), who is on injured list probably several weeks, played 38:39 minutes and netted nine pts, taking seven rbs and giving nine assists.
At Lappeenranta local YMCA lost vs KTP (Kotka) 61-73 (26-40). The hosts were shooting with 16% accuracy (3/19) from behind the arc. Jason Conley (196-G-81, agency: Warren Sports International, college: Missouri) had a double-double 20pts/10rbs. Bojan Sarcevic (190-G-88) was leading KTP (12-4) again with 21 points. And at Lapua Korikobrat (4-12) scored 92 points, but that was 20 pts less than UU-Korihait had in this contest: 92-112 (46-57). Dwight Tolbert (195-F-86, college: Lander) scored his personal best this season 33 pts (3 - 9/17)! Samuel Haanpaa (203-SG-86) added 15 pts. UU-Korihait (4-13) had only seven players on the roster, six of them were in double digits. Alain Laroche (198-F-83, college: N.Florida) (19pts/13rbs) was the only American player, ex-NBA-players had left the team already. Mikko Jalonen (186-PG-82) led the visitors with 29 pts.

Kouvot - Karhu 93-92 (52-41). (Gilberto Clavell 34/8, Antto Nikkarinen 19/6a, Aleksi Akpaso 16 - Jussi Eskola 20, Tremaine Ford 17/8, J'Nathan Bullock 16. A: 796).
FoKoPo - YMCA Lahti 81-75 (43-39). (Jahmar Thorpe 20, Andrais Thornton 19/11, Charlie Burgess 19/10 - Louis Johnson 20, Vesa Heinonen 16, Jordan Hasquet 14. A: 258).
YMCA LPR - KTP 61-73 (26-40). (Jason Conley 20/10, Matt Gibson 16, Greg Logins 12/10 - Bojan Sarcevic 21, Sefton Barrett 15, Jukka Matinen 11/8. A: 689).
Lapua - Korihait 92-112 (46-57). (Dwight Tolbert 33, Samuel Haanpaa 15, Dominique Coleman 14 - Mikko Jalonen 29, Mikael Herbert 21, Alain Laroche 19/13. A: 315).

In Divsion 1A (round 13) BC Nokia beat Honka (Tapiola) 90-71 (46-38). BC Nokia (7-5) had only seven turnovers in the game, but Honka (7-6) lost the ball 23 times.
