Korisliiga, round 20: The very last games of this 2012 year in Top League and a bunch of thrillers at the same time tonight. The biggest upset took place at Uusikaupunki, where UU-Korihait (5-15) beat Bisons (Loimaa) 87-84 (44-43) when playing with six players, among them only one American player. Alain Laroche (198-F-83, college: N.Florida) scored the needed points at the end and Bisons (16-4) missed all nine shots during the last two minutes!
KTP (Kotka) and Karhu from Kauhajoki needed two OTs before KTP had finally won 118-108 (98) (84) (42-42). There were 14 lead changes and 14 ties in this real thriller. Karhu (13-7) lost five players during the contest because of five fouls. KTP (14-5) got 45 FTs and made 36 of them. Karhu had 24 FTs, made 19 of them. FoKoPo (Forssa) was down by four (76-80) with 46 seconds to go vs Vilpas (Salo), but Markus Molenius (203-F-92) saved the hosts by making all three FTs (39:24) and knocking down a 3-pointer (39:50). FoKoPo won by two 82-80 (38-41).
Korikobrat (Lapua) defeated Kouvot (Kouvola) 79-69 (38-33), YMCA Lappeenranta lost vs visitor Pyrinto (Tampere) 82-101 (46-50) and YMCA Lahti (4-16) loosing vs Kataja (Joensuu) 68-77 after leading still during the half time 35-26.

It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Joensuun Kataja's pressure prevailed and they won that period 32-16 extending their advantage to 17 points. Aris Thessaloniki (A1) inked 25-year old American guard Antwan Scott (188-81kg-92, college: Colorado State). He played recently at KTP Basket in Finnish Korisliiga. In 14 games he averaged impressive 22.0ppg, 4.5rpg, 2.9apg and 1.6spg this season. Scott also played for New Heroes Basketball Den Bosch in Holland earlier that season where in 11 Eredivisie games he had very remarkable stats: 20.6ppg, 4.5rpg, 5.5apg and 2.3spg. Kataja Basket - Helsinki Seagulls 105-80 Kataja Basket cruised past Helsinki Seagulls to take 2-1 lead. The game was mostly controlled by Joensuun Kataja.
