The most shocking disappointment of round 24 in the SM-sarja was a home defeat of 6th ranked Aanekosken (10-9) to seventh ranked HoNsU (11-8) 75-71 in the game for the sixth place. It ended the two-game winning streak of Aanekosken. The guests trailed by 7 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 75-71. HoNsU forced 22 Aanekosken turnovers. Strangely Aanekosken outrebounded HoNsU 53-29 including a 23-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when HoNsU made 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Nia Jackson (170-89, college: Oregon, agency: Gamble Sports Management) who helped to win the game recording 32 points and 5 steals and the former international forward Minna Sten (189-87) who added 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks during the contest. The best for the losing side was American center Kenya Robinson (182-70, college: New Orleans) with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. HoNsU have a solid three-game winning streak.
