American Vernon Taylor (190-G-87) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's leader Porvoon Tarmo and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com 1st Division Player of the Week award for round 18.
The 25-year old guard had a double-double of 39 points and ten rebounds, while his team crushed Ura Basket (#9, 4-12) with 19-point margin 105-86. It allowed Porvoon Tarmo to consolidate first place in the Finnish 1st Division. Porvoon Tarmo have a solid 13-3 record. In the team's last game Taylor had a remarkable 81.8% from 2-point range. He turned to be Porvoon Tarmo's top player in his first season with the team. Vernon Taylor averages this season 24.6ppg and 5.9rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was -year old American forward Antonio Hester (198-F) of TuNMKY. Hester impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 29 points and 19 rebounds. Of course he lead TuNMKY to another comfortable win 83-70 over slightly lower-ranked HBA-Marsky (#5, 8-10) being unquestionably team leader. TuNMKY's 3rd position in group B has not changed. His team's 11-7 record is not bad at all. Hester is a newcomer at TuNMKY and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. Mobile University alumni Hester played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.

The third best performed player last round was American Ronnie Clark (195-F/G-81) of Tapiolan Honka (#4). Clark got into 30-points club by scoring 37 points in the last round. He went also for thirteen rebounds . He was a key player of Tapiolan Honka, leading his team to a 97-82 easy win against the lower-ranked Pyrinto II (#7, 5-12). Tapiolan Honka needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams in group A. Their record at this point is 10 victories and 7 lost games. Clark has a great season in Finland. After 17 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.3ppg (7th best). He also has FGP: 53.7% and 3PT: 40.2%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Nafis Ricks (188-G) of BC Jyvaskyla - 25 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Brian Moultrie (198-C/F-87) of BC Nokia - 23 points and 14 rebounds
6. Janne Kinnunen (180-PG-87) of KaU Koris - 32 points and 5 assists
7. Antonio Hester (198-F) of TuNMKY - 24 points and 20 rebounds
8. Miikka Markkanen (200-C-93) of BC Jyvaskyla - 20 points and 13 rebounds
9. Joonas Suotamo (209-F/C-86) of Espoo Basket - 28 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Henri Niemisto (194-G-96) of HBA-Marsky - 29 points and 3 rebounds

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
