Korisliiga, round 25-26: Two games on top level tonight. Kataja (Joensuu) beat Karhu (Kauhajoki) 102-82 (49-48). And Pyrinto (Tampere) lost at home vs Bisons (Loimaa) 90-100. (38-49). Kataja was led by Daniel Coleman (206-F-85, college: Minnesota), who missed only three shots (1 - 2/2, 2 - 6/9, 3 - 1/1) scoring 19 points.Johnell Smith (180-PG-80, college: New Orleans) added 18 and Sami Lehtoranta (205-PF-79) 14 pts in 19 minutes. Karhu (Kauhajoki) had four players in double digits. Eldar Skamo (198-F-86) netted 15 pts.
Pyrinto (Tampere) lost at home vs Bisons (Loimaa) 90-100 (38-49). Lamonte Ulmer (198-SF-86, college: Rhode Island) (Pyrinto) had his season best 42 pts/13 rbs (1 - 13/14, 2 - 10/14, 3 - 3/5). Damon Williams (201-F-73, agency: Two Points, college: Colorado St.-Pueblo) added 15 pts as well as Antero Lehto (184-G-84) (15 pts). Jeb Ivey (190-G-80, college: Portland St.) and Martin Zeno (196-G-85, college: Texas Tech) netted 21 pts both. Mikko Koivisto (194-G-87, college: NC-Greensboro) added 13 pts.

Division 1 A: Tarmo (Porvoo) was down by 10 (33-43) vs BC Nokia during the half time, but the hosts won the third quarter 24-7 and the contest 81-71. Quarters: 15-24, 18-19, 24-7 and 24-21.Brian Moultrie (198-C/F-87, college: Armstr.Atlantic) and Timo Riihela (193-G-80) were the key players of BC Nokia, but Tarmo came strong to the game during the third quarter. Vernon Taylor (190-G-87, college: Troy led Tarmo (14-3) with 23 pts. Jerrah Young (203-F-85, college: Toledo) had a double-double 15pts/16rbs.

BC Nokia (Korisliiga) agreed terms with 23-year old American small forward Leyton Hammonds (203-98kg-94, agency: Inception Sports). Hammonds just graduated from Oklahoma State University (NCAA). He has played there for the last four years. In 33 games he had 8.1ppg and 4.9rpg last season. As mentioned above Hammonds is just out of the college and it will be his first season as a pro. Hyeres-Toulon Var Basket (ProA) added to their roster 27-year old American swingman Raymond Cowels III (193-90, college: Santa Clara).
