The round 25 was rather boring as all games ended with very predictable results.

Leader Catz Lappeenranta delivered the eighteenth win on Saturday night. This time they crushed 6th ranked HoNsU (11-9) 92-48 in Jyvaskyla. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of HoNsU. Catz Lappeenranta dominated on the defensive end, holding HoNsU to just 4 points in third quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to HoNsU's 34. Catz Lappeenranta forced 25 HoNsU turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by HoNsU's players. Russian power forward Jelena Reshetko (184-86) fired 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American swingman Alexandria Anderson (185-86, college: Chattanooga, agency: Regeneracom Sports) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds. The former international forward Minna Sten (189-87) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds for lost side. Catz Lappeenranta (18-2) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place. HoNsU at the other side keeps the sixth position with nine games lost. Catz Lappeenranta are looking forward to face Honka (#4) in Espoo in the next round. HoNsU will play on the road against BC Nokia and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
The game in Kerava was also worth to mention about. Fifth ranked Torpan Pojat (13-7) played at the court of 8th ranked Kerava Energia Team (6-14). Torpan Pojat managed to secure a 4-point victory 86-82. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international power forward Niina Laaksonen (185-85) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds. Kenya McBee contributed with 24 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American guard Earlysia Marchbanks (180, college: Oregon St., agency: Interperformances) answered with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 20 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for Kerava Energia Team. Kerava Energia Team's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Torpan Pojat moved-up to third place, which they share with FoA and Honka. Kerava Energia Team lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with 14 games lost. Torpan Pojat will play against league's second-placed Peli-Karhut in Kotka in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kerava Energia Team will have a break next round.

Other games of round 25 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Huima was crushed by PeKa in Kotka 91-53. Honka beat HyPo at home 99-81. FoA won against TuRi on the opponent's court 85-72.
The best stats of 25th round was 42 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds by Melissa Jeltema of Honka.


HoNsU - Catz 48-92

PeKa - Huima 91-53

There was no surprise in Kotka where 7th ranked Aanekosken (10-10) was crushed by second ranked Peli-Karhut (16-4) 91-53. The game without a history. Peli-Karhut led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Aanekosken's 34. Peli-Karhut forced 29 Aanekosken turnovers. The game was dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Shenita Landry (188-87, college: Temple) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 8 rebounds. Swingman Korinne Campbell (182-88, college: W.Virginia) contributed with 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Five Peli-Karhut players scored in double figures. Swingman Jasmin Holliday (182-90, college: Oregon) answered with 20 points and 8 rebounds and center Kenya Robinson (182-70, college: New Orleans) added 14 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Aanekosken. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Peli-Karhut. They maintain second place with 16-4 record having just two points less than leader Catz. Aanekosken at the other side keeps the seventh position with ten games lost. Peli-Karhut will play against Torpan Pojat (#5) in Helsinki in the next round. Aanekosken will play at home against TuRi in Turku and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Honka - HyPo 99-81

No shocking result in a game in Espoo where fourth ranked Honka (13-7) defeated bottom-ranked HyPo (2-18) 99-81. The game without a history. Honka led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 23 HyPo turnovers. Strangely HyPo outrebounded Honka 42-30 including 18 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Melissa Jeltema (175-88, college: Oakland) who helped to win the game recording 42 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds. Her fellow American import guard Jordan Murphree (183-87, college: Texas Tech, agency: Merit Sports) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners. American forward Phebe Smith (183, college: Columbus St., agency: Gamble Sports Management) answered with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 27 rebounds and 4 assists and U.S. Virgin Islands-American swingman Natalie Day (182-90, college: Portland) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for HyPo. Five HyPo players scored in double figures. HyPo's coach Besim Maxhuni rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the third consecutive win for Honka. They moved-up to third place, which they share with FoA and ToPo. HyPo lost their third game in a row. HyPo at the other side, also newcomer in the league, stay dead last with 18 lost games. Honka will play against league's leader Catz Lappeenranta on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. HyPo will play against Forssan Alku (#3) and hopes to get back on the winning track.

TuRi - FoA 72-85

Very expected game in Turku where 9th ranked TuRi (5-15) was defeated by third ranked Forssan Alku (13-7) 85-72. It looked good early as TuRi took an 5-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Forssan Alku had a 21-8 second period charge getting the lead and TuRi was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 72-85. Forssan Alku made 20-of-24 charity shots (83.3 percent) during the game. It was a very good performance for American forward Secily Ray (180-90, college: Wake Forest) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). The former international forward Henna Koponen (183-86, college: Coker) contributed with 21 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Five Forssan Alku players scored in double figures. American forward Callan Taylor (182-90, college: Sacred Heart) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds and international center Sofia Pelander (188-92) added 16 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for TuRi. Forssan Alku maintains third place with 13-7 record having five points less than leader Catz, which they share with ToPo and Honka. TuRi lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth position with 15 games lost. Forssan Alku will play against bottom-ranked HyPo (#11) in Hyvinkaa in the next round and are hoping to win another game. TuRi will play on the road against Aanekosken in Aanekoski and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
