Here is the weekly review of the top performing Finnish players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an experienced international center Taru Tuukkanen (190-77, agency: Regeneracom Sports, college: Xavier, currently plays in Spain), who plays in the Spanish LFB. She could not help Caja Rural (6-7) in their last game. Despite Tuukkanen's good performance Caja Rural was crushed 76-53 on the road by the second-ranked Perfumerias Avenida. She was the second best scorer with 14 points. Tuukkanen also added 8 rebounds in 26 minutes on the court. It was Caja Rural's third consecutive loss in a row. Tuukkanen has relatively good stats this year: 13.7ppg, 6.3rpg, 2FGP: 46.4% and FT: 78.7% in the 13 games she played so far. She is currently a member of the Finnish senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international swingman Heta Korpivaara (186-84, also represented by Regeneracom Sports, college: Seton Hall, currently plays in Germany), who plays in the German DBBL. Korpivaara was not able to help Heli Girls (9-5) in their last game on Saturday. Despite her good performance Heli Girls was defeated 74-64 in Wolfenbuettel by the league outsider Wildcats (#12). Korpivaara was the second best scorer with 14 points. She also added 6 rebounds. It's Korpivaara's first season with the team. Korpivaara is ranked fifth on the list of the top scorers in the league. She has individually a very good season with high stats. Korpivaara averages: 17.4ppg, 5.2rpg, 2FGP: 52.1%, 3FGP: 18.2% and FT: 88.7%. She is in the roster of the Finnish senior national team.

   #3. The Finnish player who performed third best last week abroad was an international swingman Tiina Sten (189-85, another player represented by Regeneracom Sports, college: St.John's, currently plays in Germany). Sten contributed to a TSV 1880 Wasserburg's victory against the ninth-ranked Rotenburg/Scheessel (5-9) 77-71 in the German DBBL on Sunday night. She scored 6 points in 19 minutes. TSV 1880 Wasserburg (12-2) is placed first in the DBBL. It was her team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. This year Sten's overall stats are: 7.6ppg, 3.1rpg, 2FGP: 55.4%(36-65), 3FGP: 35.7% in the 13 games. She is also a member of the Finnish senior national team.

   #4. Guard Janika Sundstrom (175-87, currently plays in Sweden) managed to help Kvarnby BBK to win against the league leader IK Eos (13-2) crushing them 84-62 in the Swedish Damligan in Wednesday night's game. Sundstrom recorded 5 points and added 3 assists. Kvarnby BBK (9-10) is placed seventh in the Damligan. It was her team's third consecutive victory in a row. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Sundstrom's total stats this season are: 2.8ppg and 1.3rpg. She used to play for the Finnish U20 national team back in 2006.


One more player who has never been selected to any of national teams, but has Finnish passport:

   #1. Saara Lehtoranta (170-F-90, currently plays in Germany) managed to help TG Neuss in a victory against the ninth-ranked Dolphins Bielefeld (4-10) 61-53 in the German 2.Bundesliga (12th division) last Saturday. Lehtoranta scored only 1 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 14 minutes. TG Neuss (6-8) is placed eighth in North group. This year Lehtoranta's total stats are: 4.3ppg and 2.0rpg in the 12 games she played so far.

Espoo Utd - HyPo 63-82 HyPo dropped Espoo United on the road to force the decisive fifth game in the championship series. The game was mostly controlled by HyPo. Espoo Utd managed to win third quarter 14-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Espoo Utd's 22 and made 22-of-25 free shots (88.0 percent) during the game.
