Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Finns who are currently playing abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an experienced international center Taru Tuukkanen (190-77, agency: Regeneracom Sports, college: Xavier, currently plays in Spain), who plays in the Spanish LFB. She could not help Caja Rural (6-8) in their last game. Despite Tuukkanen's good performance Caja Rural lost 65-77 at home to the higher-ranked (#3) Argon Uni Girona. She was the second best scorer with 12 points. Tuukkanen also added 9 rebounds in 23 minutes on the court. It was Caja Rural's fourth consecutive loss in a row. Tuukkanen has relatively good stats this year: 13.6ppg, 6.5rpg, 2FGP: 44.4%, 3FGP: 14.3% and FT: 76.8% in the 14 games she played so far. She is currently a member of the Finnish senior national team.

Heta Korpivaara

   #2. Second place goes to an international swingman Heta Korpivaara (186-84, also represented by Regeneracom Sports, college: Seton Hall, currently plays in Germany), who plays in the German DBBL. Korpivaara was not able to help Heli Girls (9-6) in their last game on Sunday. Despite her good performance Heli Girls was defeated 77-63 on their home court in Noerdlingen by the leading TSV 1880 Wasserburg. Korpivaara scored 10 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Korpivaara is currently ninth on the list of top scorers. She has individually a very good season with high stats. Korpivaara averages: 16.9ppg, 5.3rpg, 2FGP: 50.8%, 3FGP: 16.7% and FT: 85.9%. She is in the roster of the Finnish senior national team.

   #3. The Finnish player who performed third best last week abroad was an international forward Dionne Pounds (174-84, another player represented by Regeneracom Sports, college: Lamar, currently plays in Spain) is a teammate of previously mentioned Taru Tuukkanen and both played together in the last Spanish LFB game. Pounds. She was not able to secure a victory for Caja Rural (6-8) in their game against Argon Uni Girona (9-4). Pounds scored only 4 points in 17 minutes. Caja Rural lost 65-77 on their home court in Zamora to the higher-ranked (#3) Argon Uni Girona. This year Pounds' overall stats are: 9.6ppg, 2.4rpg, 2FGP: 40.4%, 3FGP: 40.4% in the 13 games. She is also a member of the Finnish senior national team.

   #4. Swingman Tiina Sten (189-85, another player represented by Regeneracom Sports, college: St.John's, currently plays in Germany) faced previously mentioned Heta Korpivaara in the German DBBL last game. Sten managed to help TSV 1880 Wasserburg to win against the closely-ranked Heli Girls (9-6) 77-63. She scored only 2 points. Sten's total stats this season are: 7.2ppg and 2.9rpg. She is also Finnish national team player.

   #5. Former U20 international guard Janika Sundstrom (175-87, currently plays in Sweden) couldn't help Kvarnby (9-11) in their game against Udominate (12-7) in the Swedish Damligan. She scored only 4 points. Kvarnby was badly defeated 91-74 on the road by the higher-ranked Udominate (#5). They ended the series of three consecutive victories. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Sundstrom's total stats this season are: 2.8ppg and 1.4rpg. She used to play for the Finnish U20 national team seven years ago.


One more player who has never been selected to any of national teams, but has Finnish passport:

   #1. Saara Lehtoranta (170-F-90, currently plays in Germany) managed to help TG Neuss in a victory against the ninth-ranked SG BBZ Opladen crushing them 75-52 in the German 2.Bundesliga (12th division) last Saturday. Lehtoranta scored only 3 points in 19 minutes. TG Neuss (7-8) is placed eighth in North group. This year Lehtoranta's total stats are: 4.2ppg and 2.0rpg in the 13 games she played so far.

HyPo - Espoo Utd 76-69 HyPo claimed SM-sarja title. They overcame Espoo United at home court to earn the championship trophy. The best player for the winners was the former international center Taru Tuukkanen (192-77, college: Xavier) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 18 rebounds and 5 assists. Espoo Utd - HyPo 63-82 HyPo dropped Espoo United on the road to force the decisive fifth game in the championship series. The game was mostly controlled by HyPo. Espoo Utd managed to win third quarter 14-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening.
