  follow us on Facebook Twitter

American guard Jordan Murphree (183-G-87, agency: Merit Sports) put on an amazing game in the last round for Honka, receiving a Player of the Week award for round 27.
The 25-year old player had a double-double of 24 points and 12 rebounds, while her team beat ToPo (#5, 13-9) 79-73. Honka is placed at 3rd position in Finnish SM-sarja. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Honka will need more victories to improve their 14-8 record. Murphree turned to be Honka's top player in her first season with the team. Former Texas Tech University star has very solid stats this year. Murphree is in league's top in points (3rd best: 20.0ppg), assists (6th best: 3.7apg) and averages impressive 1.1bpg and 3.8spg.

The second best player in last round's games was another Honka's star - 24-year old American Melissa Jeltema (175-G-88). Jeltema had a very good evening with a double-double of 26 points and 16 rebounds. It was enough for Honka to edge slightly lower-ranked ToPo (#5, 13-9) 79-73. This victory allowed Honka to move up to 3rd position in the standings. Her team's 14-8 record is not bad at all. Jeltema is a newcomer at Honka, but is already one of team's top players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 27.1ppg (#1). She also registered 9.5 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was international guard Linda-Lotta Lehtoranta (175-G-91) of league's second-best PeKa. Lehtoranta scored 26 points. She was a key player of PeKa, leading her team to a 100-59 easy win against the lower-ranked BC Nokia (#10, 3-19). PeKa is closer and closer to the top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 18-4 record is not that bad... Lehtoranta has a very solid season. In 22 games in Finland she scored 16.5ppg. She also has 2.2spg and FGP: 67.8%.

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
