Korisliiga, round 29: Kataja (Joensuu) winning game # 8 in a row tonight and game # 11 at home in a row. This time Kataja (22-5) defeated FoKoPo (Forssa) thanks to the excellent first half: 96-91 (55-41). Johnell Smith (180-PG-80, college: New Orleans) led the hosts with 19 points. Petri Virtanen (183-PG-80) added 15 and Daniel Coleman (206-F-85, college: Minnesota) 14 pts. American G Charles Burgess (186-PG-84, college: Texas Tech) scored game high 36 pts (1 - 9/9, 2 - 9/20, 3 - 3/5). Sami Ikavalko (188-G-89) added 17 pts. Andrais Thornton (203-F-85, college: NW Missouri St.) had a double-double 12pts/12rbs.
Kataja - FoKoPo 96-91 (55-41). (Johnell Smith 19, Petri Virtanen 15, Dan Coleman 14/9. - Charlie Burgess 36, Sami Ikavalko 17, Andrais Thornton 12/12. A: 674).
In Division 1 A two contests tonight. Pyrinto II (Tampere) won over Ura Basket (Kaarina) 78-56 (48-32). Ura Basket had three American players who combined only 18 pts. Santeri Latvala (186-PG-91) was the only player over 10 points. Pyrinto II was using two Pyrinto I players: Kenneth Lowe (192-G-80, college: Purdue) and Carl Lindbom (206-F-91). Especially Lindbom helped a lot: 33pts/10rbs.
At Aanekoski local Huima crushed YMCA Oulu 99-78 (45-33). Sharpshooter Cory Abercrombie (201-PF-85, college: Independence CC) had a big night: 33 pts (1 - 7/7, 2 - 10/10, 3 - 2/4). DeAndre Mays (188-G-87, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov, college: Youngstown St.) added 23 pts. Dwight Coleman (203-F/G-84, college: Dallas Baptist) led the visitors with 16 pts.

He played this summer at Mauricio Baez in District National in Dominican Republic. He helped them to make it to the final.
