The games at this stage are more interesting as they can be crucial for the final standings in Regular Season. Despite we already know who is stronger and who is weaker, there may be still last minute susprises and upsets. The round 29 was rather boring as all games ended with very predictable results.

SM-sarja top team - Catz Lappeenranta (22-2) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they beat eleventh ranked HyPo (2-21) in Hyvinkaa 79-63. Catz Lappeenranta dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to HyPo's 34. Catz Lappeenranta forced 21 HyPo turnovers. Strangely HyPo outrebounded Catz Lappeenranta 32-20. American swingman Alexandria Anderson (185-86, college: Chattanooga, agency: Regeneracom Sports) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 5 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Her fellow American import Chandrea Jones (175-87, college: Syracuse, agency: LBM Management) contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Catz Lappeenranta's coach Mika Haakana used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Phebe Smith (183, college: Columbus St., agency: Gamble Sports Management) answered with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds for HyPo. Catz Lappeenranta have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 22-2 record. HyPo lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 21 lost games. Catz Lappeenranta are looking forward to face Aanekosken (#7) in Aanekoski in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. HyPo will play on the road against Torpan Pojat (#5) in Helsinki and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 29: ToPo was beaten by FoA on the road 84-69. Honka won against Kerava on its own court 86-77. BC Nokia unfortunately lost to TuRi in Turku 53-58. PeKa managed to beat HoNsU at home 83-69.
The most impressive performance of 29th round was 32 points and 20 rebounds by Earlysia Marchbanks of Kerava.

FoA - ToPo 84-69

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both third ranked Forssan Alku and 5th ranked Torpan Pojat had identical 14-9 record. Torpan Pojat managed to win second period 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening.
