Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Finns who are currently playing abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international guard Sasu Salin (192-91, currently plays in Adriatic League). He led his Slovenian team Un.Olimpija to a surprising victory over the league leader Partizan (20-0) 73-71 in the Adriatic League in Saturday night's game. Salin was MVP of the game. He recorded 13 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 38 minutes on the court. Union Olimpija Ljubljana (12-10) is placed seventh in the Adriatic League. There are only four games left until the end of the Adriatic League Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Salin belongs to league's most steals and is ranked #4 with 1.8spg. He also averaged so far 7.2ppg, 3.4rpg, 2FGP: 41.5%, 3FGP: 33.7% and FT: 64.3% in the 21 games he played so far. Salin is currently a member of the Finnish senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international point guard Petteri Koponen (194-88, currently plays in Euroleague). He contributed to an easy victory against the eighth-ranked Besiktas (0-8) crushing them 87-56 in the Euroleague last Friday. Koponen scored 8 points and added 4 passes. BC Khimky Moscow Region (5-3) is placed fourth in group F. It's Koponen's first season with the team. This year he averages: 6.3ppg, 1.8apg, 2FGP: 57.1%(20-35), 3FGP: 38.2%. Koponen is in the roster of the Finnish senior national team.

The Finnish player who performed third best last week abroad was an experienced international point guard Teemu Rannikko (189-80, currently plays in Adriatic League) is a teammate of previously mentioned Sasu Salin and both played together in the last Adriatic League game. Rannikko was the major contributor in Un.Olimpija's shocking victory against the league leader Partizan (20-0) 73-71. He recorded 12 points in 30 minutes. This year Rannikko's overall stats are: 7.1ppg, 1.1rpg, 3.1apg, 2FGP: 63.6%(14-22), 3FGP: 34.3% and FT: 86.2% in the 21 games. He is also a member of the Finnish senior national team.

   #4. Center Gerald Lee (208-87, college: ODU, currently plays in Eurocup) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Banvit BK (3-3) 66-50 in the Eurocup in Wednesday night's game. Lee scored 7 points. KK Buducnost Voli Podgorica (3-3) is placed second in group I. There are only two games left until the end of the Eurocup Top 16. So now every game is very crucial. Lee's total stats this season are: 9.3ppg and 3.5rpg. He is a naturalized American. Lee is also Finnish national team player. Strangely he has never played in Finland.

International small forward Shawn Huff (198-84, college: Valparaiso, currently plays in Italy) contributed to a 2-point Vanoli Cremona's victory against the closely-ranked Sutor Montegranaro (6-14) 89-87 in the Italian SerieA last Sunday. Huff scored 8 points in 17 minutes. Vanoli Cremona (8-12) is placed 11th in the SerieA. This year Huff's total stats are: 4.1ppg and 3.4rpg in the 16 games. He plays currently for the Finnish national team.

Forward Alex Murphy (203-93, currently plays college basketball in the States) contributed to an easy victory against the Virginia Tech (3-11) crushing them 88-56 in the NCAA on Thursday night. Murphy recorded 8 points. The Duke University has a very solid 11-3 conference record this season. There are only four games left until the end of the NCAA Regular Season. So now every game will be important. Murphy has averaged so far 4.1ppg and 3.4rpg. He is a naturalized American. Murphy is U20 international player who is currently on the Finnish National Team roster. Apparently he has never played in Finland.

International guard Roope Ahonen (186-90, agency: FCM, currently plays in Sweden) contributed to a Solna Vikings' victory against one of league's weakest teams White Eagles (5-25) 88-76 in the Swedish Basketligan in Tuesday night's game. Ahonen scored 9 points and added 3 assists in only 14 minutes. Solna Vikings (19-11) is placed sixth in the Basketligan. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be extremely important. Ahonen has relatively good stats this year: 11.1ppg, 1.7rpg and 4.3apg in the 30 games. He is also Finnish national team player.

Power forward Joonas Caven (211-93, currently plays in Spain) helped Prat Juventud win their game against the 13th-ranked La Palma (5-13) 68-56 in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division) last Saturday. Caven scored 10 points. CB Prat Juventud (11-6) is placed second in the LEB Silver. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. Caven has averaged so far 7.8ppg and 2.4rpg. He plays currently for the Finnish U20 national team.

International power forward Tuukka Kotti (205-81, college: Providence, currently plays in Italy) is a teammate of previously mentioned Shawn Huff and both played together in the last Italian SerieA game. Kotti managed to help Vanoli Cremona in a 2-point victoryagainst the closely-ranked Sutor Montegranaro (6-14) 89-87. He scored only 2 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 6 minutes on the court. Kotti has averaged so far 5.4ppg and 5.8rpg in the 18 games. He is also in the roster of the Finnish national team.

Toivonen scored 7 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. The University of Texas-Pan American has 4-3 conference record this season. There are only two games left until the end of the NCAA Regular Season. Toivonen has averaged so far 5.4ppg and 5.8rpg. He is a former university international player as two years ago he still played for the Finnish national team.

Hyeres-Toulon Var Basket (ProA) added to their roster 27-year old American swingman Raymond Cowels III (193-90, college: Santa Clara). He played last season at Helsinki Seagulls in Finnish Korisliiga. In 45 games he had 14.7ppg, 5.7rpg and 1.4apg. Cowels III helped them to make it to the semifinals. A very spectacular season in his career as he was named to Eurobasket.com All-Finnish Korisliiga Honorable Mention. Espoo United (1st Division) inked 31-year old former Finn international swingman Samuel Haanpaa (203-86, agency: Blacktop Management). He played most recently at Obras Basket in Argentinian LigaA. In 36 games he averaged 3.8ppg and 1.3rpg last season. The previous (15-16) season Haanpaa played at KTP Basket (Korisliiga) where in 33 games he had 11.2ppg, 3.3rpg and 1.2apg. Salon Vilpas Vikings (Korisliiga) agreed terms with 24-year old American forward Aaron Jones (206-104kg-93, college: Mississippi). He playsthis summer at Huracanes del Atlantico in LNB league in Dominican Republic. In two LNB games he had 11.5ppg, 8.5rpg, 2.0apg, 1.5spg and 2.0bpg. The last season he played at Beroe in Bulgarian NBL where in 33 games he recorded 12.5ppg, 7.7rpg, 1.3apg, 1.8spg (in top 5) and 1.5bpg. Jones helped them to win the cup and make to league final.
