American forward Devonne Giles (203-F-83) had an amazing evening in the last round for top-ranked KTP, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 36.
The 29-year old player had a double-double of 28 points and 16 rebounds, while his team beat Pyrinto (#4, 24-9) 93-78. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed KTP to consolidate first place in the Finnish Korisliiga. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. KTP has a very solid 27-8 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. Giles turned to be KTP's top player in his first season with the team. Former Texas Tech University star has very solid stats this year. Giles is in league's top in rebounds (6th best: 8.7rpg) and averages impressive 61.7% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 28-year old American Charles Burgess (186-PG-84, agency: Two Points) of FoKoPo. Burgess had a very good evening with 33 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Of course FoKoPo cruised to a 98-88 relatively comfortable win over the higher-ranked LrNMKY (#7, 15-19). This victory allowed FoKoPo to leave bottom place moving a little bit up to 11th position in the standings. 26 lost games are too many comparing to just nine victories FoKoPo managed to get this year. Burgess is a newcomer at FoKoPo, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.0ppg (#9). His other stats are also decent: 6.8rpg and 3.9apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Jason Conley (196-G-81, agency: Warren Sports International) of LrNMKY (#7). Conley showcased his all-around game by recording 22 points, twelve rebounds (!!!) and four assists in the last round. Despite Conley's great performance LrNMKY lost 88-98 to the lower-ranked FoKoPo (#11, 9-26). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of LrNMKY ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 19 games, recording just fifteen victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Conley could help LrNMKY to bring them higher in the standings. Conley has a great season in Finland. After 32 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 22.9ppg (best scorer) and rebounds with 10.0rpg (#1 in league). Conley attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Samuel Haanpaa (203-SG-86) of Lapua - 26 points and 15 rebounds
5. Jonte Flowers (196-F/G-85) of Kataja - 22 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Martin Zeno (196-G-85) of Nilan Bisons - 26 points and 6 rebounds
7. Andrais Thornton (203-F-85) of FoKoPo - 20 points, 14 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Matthew Gibson (196-G-84) of LrNMKY - 23 points, 4 rebounds and 9 assists
9. Jahmar Thorpe (198-F-84) of FoKoPo - 19 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Petri Virtanen (183-PG-80) of Kataja - 33 points

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
