Denmark men's NT has got a new Head Coach. Finnish Pieti Poikola , 35, has been named the new head coach. The contract is model 2+2 years. There were 18 coaches from several countries interested in this job. Poikola started his coaching career in the year 2003 and he reached the top of Finnish Basketball just in five years, when he was named the Head Coach of Pyrinto (Tampere). During the four years (2008-2012) in Tampere he led Pyrinto once into bronze (2008-09) and twice (2009-10 and 2010-11) into Finnish Championship. He was also named twice The Coach of the Year in Finland.

Estonia upset the hosts in the opener of the U20 Nordic Cup. Estonian side grabbed a 88:77 over Finland in Day 1.
Estonia took 19-14 lead in the first period and then had 41:30 halftime advantage. The guests improved to 13 points after 30 minutes, but were fully satisfied with 88:77 final win.

Julius Rajala (205-PF-94) collected 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Joonas Lehtoranta (183-SG-94) had 13. Denmark pip Sweden in Helsinki in the start of the U20 Nordic Cup. The Danish side led 12 points entering the last stanza but escaped with a 70:69 win.

Finnish Champion Bisons (Loimaa) and Head Coach Greg Gibson are interested to play Eurocup games, which is the second highest level in Europe. Kataja (Joensuu) and KTP (Kotka) have informed about their willingness to participate the EuroChallenge series. The last two seasons Vanttaja was playing on Kouvot (Kouvola) roster averaging 2012-13 in 39 contests 7,7 ppg (1 - 63,2%, 2 - 45,4%, 3 - 32,6%) - 6,6 rpg in 28:07 mpg.
