The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Helsinki Seagulls (18-5) on the court of eighth ranked Tampereen Pyrinto on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by Tampereen Pyrinto 88-71. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Helsinki Seagulls. The game was mostly controlled by Tampereen Pyrinto. Helsinki Seagulls managed to win fourth quarter 23-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tampereen Pyrinto had a 28-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Topias Palmi (194-94) orchestrated the victory by scoring 30 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). American swingman Ricky Minard (196-82, college: Morehead St., agency: SDJ Sports) contributed with 17 points and 5 assists for the winners. The former international Carl Lindbom (206-91) replied with 16 points and 8 rebounds for Helsinki Seagulls. Tampereen Pyrinto (9-15) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with BC Nokia. Helsinki Seagulls at the other side still keeps top position with five games lost. Tampereen Pyrinto is looking forward to face KTP-Basket (#9) in Kotka in the next round. Helsinki Seagulls will have a break next round.

American Rion Brown (198-91, college: Miami, FL) responded with 21 points and 4 assists. Kauhajoen Karhu maintains fourth position with 14-10 record. Joensuun Kataja at the other side keeps the third place with seven games lost. Kauhajoen Karhu will play against bottom-ranked UU-Korihait (#10) in Uusikaupunki in the next round where they are favorite. Joensuun Kataja will play at home against the league's second-placed Salon Vilpas (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An interesting game for Joensuun Kataja (14-7) which played road game in Lapua against 4th ranked Lapuan Korikobrat (13-11). Third ranked Joensuun Kataja managed to get a 12-point victory 106-94. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Lapuan Korikobrat. Daniel Mullings notched a double-double by scoring 23 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort. Joensuun Kataja's coach Greg Gibson used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 24 points and 5 rebounds by Jamal Jones did not help to save the game for Lapuan Korikobrat. Joensuun Kataja have a solid four-game winning streak. Joensuun Kataja maintains third position with 14-7 record having six points less than leader Helsinki Seagulls. Loser Lapuan Korikobrat dropped to the fifth place with 11 games lost. Joensuun Kataja will meet at home league's second-placed Salon Vilpas in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Lapuan Korikobrat will have a break next round.

In the last game of round 26 KTP Basket was beaten by Kouvot on the road 82-71.

The game between 10th ranked UU-Korihait (4-19) and eighth ranked BC Nokia (9-15) in Uusikaupunki ended with biggest points difference. Guests from Nokia outscored UU-Korihait 78-54. The game was mostly controlled by BC Nokia. UU-Korihait was better in third quarter 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. BC Nokia dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to UU-Korihait's 22. They outrebounded UU-Korihait 44-31 including a 32-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Senegalese forward Papa Dia (208-87, college: SMU) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. American guard Isaiah Wilkerson (191-90, college: NJIT) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds. American power forward Marcus Van (201-87, college: Cent.Michigan) produced 10 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Mikko Jalonen (186-82) added 5 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the hosts.
