Top ranked Helsinki Seagulls (18-6) recorded its sixth loss at the home court on Friday night. Hosts were rolled over by fourth ranked Joensuun Kataja (15-8) 91-61. The game without a history. Joensuun Kataja led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Joensuun Kataja dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Helsinki Seagulls' 26. They outrebounded Helsinki Seagulls 36-21 including 26 on the defensive glass. Canadian guard Daniel Mullings (188-91, college: N.Mexico St.) fired a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners. American swingman Jarekious Bradley (196-90, college: SE Missouri St., agency: Diamond Sports) chipped in 21 points and 5 rebounds. American guard Jason Conley (196-81, college: Missouri, agency: Blacktop Management) produced 12 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for lost side. Helsinki Seagulls' coach Mikko Larkas gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Joensuun Kataja maintains fourth position with 15-8 record. Helsinki Seagulls at the other side still keeps top place with six games lost. They share the position with Salon Vilpas. Joensuun Kataja is looking forward to face KTP-Basket (#8) in Kotka in the next round. Helsinki Seagulls will play on the road against the league's second-placed Salon Vilpas (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Another exciting game was between eighth ranked KTP-Basket and 5th ranked Lapuan Korikobrat where KTP-Basket (10-16) won against Lapuan Korikobrat (13-12) on the road 90-81. Worth to mention a great performance of American Monyea Pratt (196-85, college: Stillman, agency: Court Side) who helped to win the game recording 16 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals. Sherman Gay contributed with 21 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American guard Jamal Jones (203-93, college: Texas A&M, agency: Stealth Sport) replied with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds for Lapuan Korikobrat. KTP-Basket maintains eighth position with 10-16 record. Lapuan Korikobrat at the other side keeps the fifth place with 12 games lost. KTP-Basket will play against higher ranked Joensuun Kataja (#4) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Lapuan Korikobrat will play against UU-Korihait and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Tampereen Pyrinto (#9) forced the game against BC Nokia (#7) into an overtime, but lost by three points 89-92 on Friday night. The game took place in Tampere. But the guests from Nokia were better at the end. Worth to mention a great performance of Isaiah Wilkerson who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side J'Nathan Bullock responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds. BC Nokia have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place. Loser Tampereen Pyrinto keeps the ninth position with 17 games lost. BC Nokia will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Tampereen Pyrinto will play against Kauhajoen Karhu (#3) in Kauhajoki and hope to secure a win.
The game in Kouvola was also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Kauhajoen Karhu (16-10) played at the court of 7th ranked Kouvot (10-14). Kauhajoen Karhu managed to secure a 6-point victory 86-80. The game was dominated by American players. The winners were led by Tate Unruh who scored that evening 23 points and 4 assists. Kauhajoen Karhu have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Defending champion Kouvot keeps the seventh position with 14 games lost. Kauhajoen Karhu's next round opponent will be Tampereen Pyrinto (#9) at home where they are favorite. Kouvot will play against UU-Korihait in Uusikaupunki and hope to win that game.

The best stats of 28th round was 19 points and 12 rebounds by Rakeem Buckles of Kouvot.

Kouvot - Kauhajoki 80-86

The game in Kouvola was also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Kauhajoen Karhu (16-10) played at the court of 7th ranked Kouvot (10-14). Kauhajoen Karhu managed to secure a 6-point victory 86-80. Kouvot was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 46-38 second half run of Kauhajoen Karhu. They made 17-of-19 charity shots (89.5 percent) during the game. The game was dominated by American players. The winners were led by guard Tate Unruh (193-90, college: N.Colorado, agency: Inception Sports) who scored that evening 23 points and 4 assists and swingman Austin Hollins (195-91, college: Minnesota) supported him with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Even a double-double of 19 points and 12 rebounds by forward Rakeem Buckles (203-90, college: FIU) did not help to save the game for Kouvot. Guard Raheem Appleby (190-93, college: Louisiana Tech) added 13 points and 9 assists for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kauhajoen Karhu have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Defending champion Kouvot keeps the seventh position with 14 games lost. Tampereen Pyrinto (#9) forced the game against BC Nokia (#7) into an overtime, but lost by three points 89-92 on Friday night. The game took place in Tampere. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime then Tampereen Pyrinto managed to tie the game at the end of regular time. However that was BC Nokia who were better in overtime eventually winning that period 18-15. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Isaiah Wilkerson (191-90, college: NJIT) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Eldar Skamo (198-86) who added 15 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American forward J'Nathan Bullock (196-87, college: Cleveland St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and his fellow American import swingman Ricky Minard (196-82, college: Morehead St., agency: SDJ Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds.
