The teams have now bigger motivation at this stage of Regular Season. Every game can be crucial and decide about teams' position at the end of Regular Season.

Eighth-ranked HNMKY U23 (8-14) gave a tough game to fifth ranked Korikouvot (14-7) in Helsinki on Sunday. The visitors from Kouvola managed to secure only two-point victory 69-67. However their fans expected easier game. The guests trailed by 12 points after three quarters before their 20-6 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Korikouvot dominated on the defensive end, holding HNMKY U23 to just 6 points in fourth quarter. They also forced 20 HNMKY U23 turnovers. Strangely HNMKY U23 outrebounded Korikouvot 44-27 including 32 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for guard Henri Kantonen (197-97) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Swingman Teemu Knihtinen (195-98) helped adding 13 points and 8 rebounds. At the losing side guard Jyri Eboreime (185-98) responded with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Korikouvot moved-up to fourth place in Division. HNMKY U23 at the other side keeps the eighth position with 14 games lost. Korikouvot are looking forward to face Karkkila (#10) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. HNMKY U23 will play against PeU-Basket and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
1st Division top team - TuNMKY (18-4) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed twelfth ranked JyWe (4-17) in Turun 103-72. It was a quality performance for center Mikael Sandberg (210-91) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists. Mikael Laihonen accounted for 16 points and 12 rebounds. Russian power forward Alexei Ekimov (210-81) came up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds for JyWe in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. TuNMKY maintains first place in Division with 18-4 record. Newly promoted JyWe dropped to the thirteenth position with 17 games lost. TuNMKY will play against Raholan Pyrkiva (#7) in Tampere in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. JyWe will play on the road against the league's second-placed PuHu Juniorit (#2) in Vantaa and hopes to get back on the winning track.
An interesting game took place in Tampere where higher ranked Raholan Pyrkiva (12-9) was upset on its own court by twelfth ranked Namika Lr (5-16) 97-92 on Sunday. Reginald Bratton fired a double-double by scoring 24 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Namika Lr's coach Pasi Riihela used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Tommi Rasi produced 31 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Namika Lr maintains twelfth place in Division with 5-16 record. Loser Raholan Pyrkiva keeps the seventh position with nine games lost. Namika Lr will meet at home higher ranked Ura Basket (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Raholan Pyrkiva will play against the league's leader TuNMKY (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
