We bring you last week's top performances from Finns who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is former international power forward Emir Sulejmanovic (204-95, currently plays in ABA League). He could not help Cibona (11-12) in their last game. Despite Sulejmanovic's very good performance Cibona lost 85-89 in a derby game to the second-ranked Cedevita. He was the top scorer with 21 points. Sulejmanovic also added 6 rebounds in 22 minutes on the court. It was Cibona's sixth consecutive loss in a row. There are only three games left until the end of the ABA League Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This year Sulejmanovic averages: 7.0ppg, 3.9rpg, 2FGP: 59.0%(49-83), 3FGP: 28.1% and FT: 51.9% in 20 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Bosnia and Herzegovina and Finnish. Sulejmanovic played for the Finnish senior national team four years ago.

   #2. Second place goes to an international power forward Lauri Markkanen (213-97, currently plays college basketball in the States). He led Arizona to a victory against the The University of Washington (12-2) 76-68 in the NCAA last Saturday. Markkanen recorded a double-double by scoring 26 points and getting 13 rebounds. The University of Arizona has a very good 11-1 conference record this season. It was his team's sixth consecutive victory in a row. There are only three games left until the end of the NCAA Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. It's Markkanen's first year with the team. He has individually a very good season with high stats. Markkanen averages: 15.8ppg, 7.4rpg, 2FGP: 53.1%, 3FGP: 46.8%(58-124) and FT: 84.3%. He is in the roster of the Finnish senior national team.

   #3. The Finnish player who performed third best last week abroad was an experienced international small forward Shawn Huff (198-84, college: Valparaiso, currently plays in Basketball Champions League). Huff was not able to help Deutsche Bank Skyliners in their game against Pinar Karsiyaka (9-5) in the Basketball Champions League. He scored 9 points in 22 minutes. But the fifth-placed Deutsche Bank Skyliners (7-7) was badly defeated 72-52 on the road by the second-ranked Pinar Karsiyaka in the group A of Basketball Champions League. This year Huff's overall stats are: 5.6ppg, 4.8rpg, 3FGP: 33.3% in five games. He is also a member of the Finnish senior national team.

   #4. Power forward Alexander Madsen (207-95, currently plays in Czech Republic) was not able to secure a victory for USK Praha (20-0) in their last game on Tuesday. Despite Madsen's good performance USK Praha was defeated 65-59 in Opava by the lower-ranked BK Opava (#5) in the Places 1-6 group. He scored 10 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. It's Madsen's first season with the team. Madsen has relatively good stats this year: 11.3ppg, 5.9rpg, 1.8apg and 1.4bpg. He is also Finnish national team player.

   #5. International guard Roope Ahonen (186-90, agency: Octagon Europe, currently plays in Greece) managed to help Kolossos H Hotels in a victory against the 11th-ranked Koroivos (6-12) crushing them 86-66 in the Greek A1 last Thursday. Ahonen scored only 4 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 19 minutes. Kolossos H Hotels (10-8) is placed sixth in the A1. This year Ahonen's total stats are: 7.6ppg, 1.8rpg and 2.2apg in 18 games. He plays currently for the Finnish national team.

   #6. Power forward Tuukka Kotti (205-81, college: Providence, currently plays in Germany) contributed to an easy victory against the 14th-ranked Baunach (7-17) crushing them 103-60 in the German ProA (second division) on Sunday night. Kotti scored 10 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Crailsheim Merlins (19-5) is placed second in the ProA. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Kotti has averaged so far 9.9ppg, 6.2rpg and 1.8apg. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Finnish National Team roster.

   #7. International forward Alex Murphy (206-93, currently studies in the States), who plays in the NCAA couldn't help the Northeastern (7-7) in their last game. Despite Murphy's good performance the Northeastern lost 71-85 in Charleston to the College of. He scored 10 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and dished 6 assists in 36 minutes. There are only three games left until the end of the NCAA Regular Season. So now every game will be important. This year Murphy has relatively solid stats: 14.2ppg, 5.9rpg and 1.9apg in 28 games. He is a naturalized American. Murphy is also Finnish national team player. Strangely he has never played in Finland.

   #8. Point guard Harold Fiifi Aidoo (187-96, is currently at the American university) contributed to a Grand Canyon's surprising victory against the Utah Valley University (3-6) 77-71 in the NCAA last Saturday. Aidoo scored 8 points and had 3 steals. The Grand Canyon State University has a solid 6-3 conference record this season. There are only four games left until the end of the NCAA Regular Season. So now every game will be extremely important. Aidoo has averaged so far 4.8ppg and 2.0rpg. He used to play for the Finnish national team back in 2015.

International forward Oskar Michelsen (206-95, currently plays college basketball in the States) helped Davidson win their game against the The George Washington University (9-3) 74-63 in the NCAA in Wednesday night's game. He scored only 2 points. The Davidson College has 5-7 conference record this season. There are only three games left until the end of the NCAA Regular Season. Michelsen has averaged so far 1.3ppg and 1.1rpg. He is also in the roster of the Finnish national team.

Forward Henri Ventoniemi (208-95, currently plays in NCAA2) couldn't help the University of West Florida (12-7) in their game against the University of Alabama in Huntsville (15-4) in the NCAA2. Ventoniemi recorded 5 points in 13 minutes. The University of West Florida lost 70-76 in Huntsville to the University of Alabama in. There are only two games left until the end of the NCAA2 Regular Season. This year Ventoniemi averages only 1.9ppg in 17 games. He is a former U20 international player as two years ago he still played for the Finnish national team.

   #11. Former University international forward Julius Rajala (206-94, currently plays in NCAA2) helped University of Southern Indiana win their game against the University of Illinois at Springfield crushing them 90-57 in the NCAA2 on Thursday night. Rajala scored only 4 points. Rajala has averaged so far 8.8ppg and 4.1rpg. He used to play for the Finnish university national team two years ago.

   #12. U20 international forward Joonas Tahvanainen (198-96, currently plays college basketball in the States) couldn't help the Utah Valley in their game against the Cal State - Bakersfield in the NCAA. Tahvanainen cannot count Thursday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only 2 points in 6 minutes on the court. His team lost 71-80. Tahvanainen has averaged so far 2.2ppg and 1.5rpg in 23 games. He is also in the roster of the Finnish U20 national team.

   #13. Former U20 international swingman Vesa Heinonen (194-91, currently plays in Germany) helped Aschersleben win their game against the tenth-ranked Hannover Korbjaeger crushing them 122-92 in the German Regionalliga (fourth division) last Saturday. Heinonen scored 8 points and added 4 assists. Heinonen has averaged so far 3.7ppg and 1.8rpg. He used to play for the Finnish U20 national team six years ago.

   #14. Former U20 international center Mika Nuolivirta (211-94, currently plays in NAIA) couldn't help the Freed-Hardeman University in their game against the William Woods University in the NAIA. Nuolivirta recorded 6 points. His team was defeated 79-69 in the NAIA. He has averaged so far 6.3ppg, 3.3rpg and 1.5bpg. Nuolivirta used to play for the Finnish U20 national team back in 2014.

   #1. Remu Raitenan (206-F, currently plays college basketball in the States) managed to help University of San Francisco in a victory against the University of Portland (3-10) 65-51 in the NCAA on Saturday night. Raitenan scored 5 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 14 minutes. The University of San Francisco has 7-6 conference record this season. There are only two games left until the end of the NCAA Regular Season. Raitenan has averaged so far 4.7ppg and 3.6rpg in 27 games he played so far.

   #2. Anton Kankaanpaa (196-G-92, currently plays in NCAA2) contributed to an easy victory against the SW Oklahoma State University crushing them 82-55 in the NCAA2 on Monday night. Kankaanpaa scored 5 points in 22 minutes. The Southern Nazarene University has a solid 12-7 record this season. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the NCAA2 Regular Season. Kankaanpaa has been at the team for four years. He has averaged so far 3.3ppg and 2.0rpg in 22 games.

After 3 rounds played we can already see who rules in the 1st Division and who belongs to weaker ones. There was no lack of interesting games this round. The round ended with favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin. The most interesting game of round 3 was only one-point a home defeat of Korikouvot (1-2) to Forssan Koripojat (2-1) 98-97. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. American Aaron Jones (206-F-93) had a great game in the last round for Salon Vilpas and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 4. The 24-year old forward had a double-double of 23 points and nineteen rebounds, while his team edged out Kataja Basket (#5, 2-1) 84-81. Salon Vilpas is placed at 4th position in Finnish Korisliiga.
