Desmond
Williams
25-year old guard Desmond Williams (199-G-91) put on an amazing game in the last round for second-ranked Salon Vilpas and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 32.
He had a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds, while his team beat Pyrinto (#9, 10-20) 69-55. Salon Vilpas maintains the 2nd position in Finnish league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Salon Vilpas will need more victories to improve their 21-8 record. In the team's last game Williams had a remarkable three three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He turned to be Salon Vilpas' top player in his first season with the team. Southern Connecticut State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Williams is in league's top in rebounds (9th best: 7.8rpg), assists (7th best: 1.7apg) and averages solid 53.8% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Javier Duren (193-G-93) of BC Nokia. He is American guard in his first season at BC Nokia. In the last game Duren recorded impressive 26 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists. It was enough for BC Nokia to edge slightly lower-ranked KTP Basket (#8, 11-19) by 1 point 85-84. BC Nokia's 6th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 13-16 record. Duren is one of the most experienced players at BC Nokia and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Raheem Appleby (190-G-93) of Kouvot (#7). Appleby scored 22 points and passed six assists. He was a key player of Kouvot, leading his team to a 88-77 win against slightly higher-ranked Lapua (#5, 15-14). The chances of Kouvot ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 16 games, recording just twelve victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Appleby could help Kouvot to bring them higher in the standings. Appleby has a great season in Finland. After 23 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 4.3apg (8th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Dom Morris (201-F-90) of Lapua - 20 points and 10 rebounds
5. Antwan Scott (188-G-92) of KTP Basket - 33 points and 3 rebounds
6. Eldar Skamo (198-F-86) of BC Nokia - 10 points, 14 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Austin Hollins (195-F/G-91) of Kauhajoki - 23 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Daniel Bailey (196-G-90) of KTP Basket - 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists
9. Antto Nikkarinen (185-PG-91) of Helsinki Seagulls - 14 points, 2 rebounds and 8 assists
10. Sherman Gay (201-F/C-82) of KTP Basket - 16 points and 10 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
