Rion Brown
American Rion Brown (198-SG-91) had a great game in the last round for Kataja Basket and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 34.
The 25-year old shooting guard had the game-high 29 points adding six rebounds and three assists for Kataja Basket in his team's victory, helping them to beat Lapua (#5, 15-16) 79-69. Kataja Basket is placed at 3rd position in Finnish Korisliiga. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Kataja Basket will need more victories to improve their 20-8 record. In the team's last game Brown had a remarkable 54.5% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 8 attempts. He turned to be Kataja Basket's top player in his first season with the team. University of Miami, Florida graduate has very impressive stats this year. Brown is in league's top in points (5th best: 18.9ppg).

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 33-year old American forward Devonne Giles (203-F-83) of Kauhajoki. Giles impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 24 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as Kauhajoki lost that game 73-91 to slightly lower-ranked BC Nokia (#6, 14-17). This loss caused Kauhajoki to drop to 4th position in the standings. His team's 20-12 record is not bad at all. Giles is one of the most experienced players at Kauhajoki and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was Jamaican Sherman Gay (201-F/C-82) of KTP Basket (#8). Gay scored 25 points and grabbed seven rebounds. He was a key player of KTP Basket, leading his team to a 92-73 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Korihait (#10, 5-26). The chances of KTP Basket not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 20 games, recording just twelve victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Gay could try to bring KTP Basket's a little bit higher in the standings. Gay has individually a great season in Finland. After 32 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.1ppg (3rd best). He also has 1.9bpg and FGP: 62.0%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Devonte Upson (206-C-93) of Helsinki Seagulls - 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists
5. Damon Williams (201-F-73) of Lapua - 14 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Darryl Bryant (185-PG-90) of Kataja Basket - 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists
7. Javier Duren (193-G-93) of BC Nokia - 16 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Sefton Barrett (196-SF-83) of BC Nokia - 20 points and 6 rebounds
9. Steven Pledger (193-G-90) of Kouvot - 20 points and 5 rebounds
10. Eldar Skamo (198-F-86) of BC Nokia - 15 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
