The round was rather attractive and full of interesting results. The round ended with defeat of the leader and favorites losing the games.

Top ranked Lahti (20-7) recorded its seventh loss on the court of ninth ranked Forssan Koripojat on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Forssan Koripojat 87-81. The hosts trailed by 10 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 6 points. Forssan Koripojat forced 20 Lahti turnovers. The best player for the winners was American forward Bruce Reed (202-90, college: Pikeville) who scored 22 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Swingman Teemu Sulonen (188-94) chipped in 17 points and 8 assists. American power forward Jerald Fields (201-82, college: E.Tenn.St.) produced 17 points and 9 rebounds for the guests. Forssan Koripojat (10-17) moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Pyrinto II. Lahti at the other side still keeps top position with seven games lost.
Important game to mention about took place in Porvoo. Seventh ranked Porvoon Tarmo (11-16) saved a 2-point victory at home edging second-ranked Espoo United (18-8) 10-8 on Sunday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. American forward Levi Giese (206-90, college: Lafayette) orchestrated the victory by scoring 6 points. BJ Cardarelli contributed with 4 points for the winners. Forward Lauri Toivonen (201-91, college: UTRGV) answered with 2 points for Espoo United. Porvoon Tarmo moved-up to sixth place, which they share with HBA-Marsky. Newly promoted Espoo United keeps the second position with eight games lost.
Very important is a home loss of third ranked ToPo (16-11) against fifth ranked Oulun NMKY (15-12) on Sunday night. Host ToPo was defeated by Oulun NMKY in Helsinki 68-52. It was a great evening for Kristofer Clement who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 14 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals. Rasmus Marttinen responded with 13 points and 7 rebounds. Oulun NMKY have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place. ToPo lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the third position with 11 games lost.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked ToPo (16-11) against ninth ranked Pyrinto II (10-17) on Wednesday night. Visiting ToPo was crushed by Pyrinto II in Tampere 102-78. It was an exceptional evening for Terrell Vinson who led the winners and scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. Pyrinto II's coach Juri Heinamaki felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Pyrinto II have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with FoKoPo. ToPo lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the third position with 11 games lost.
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Lahti. First ranked Lahti faced second-ranked Espoo United. Host Lahti (20-7) defeated guests from Espoo (18-8) 108-92. The best player for the winners was Rashad Smith who had a double-double by scoring 28 points and 12 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Lahti maintains first place with 20-7 record. Newly promoted Espoo United keeps the second position with eight games lost.

Other games of round 23 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Pyrinto II defeated Jyvaskyla BA in Tampere 91-83. Jarvenpaa was beaten by HBA-Marsky at home 94-105. Jyvaskyla BA lost to Oulun NMKY on the opponent's court 60-76. HBA-Marsky unfortunately lost to FoKoPo in a home game 78-93.
The best stats of 23th round was 27 points by Robert Juvonen of Jyvaskyla BA.

Jyvaskyla BA - Pyrinto II 83-91

There was an upset when higher ranked Jyvaskyla BA (14-13) was defeated at home by ninth ranked Pyrinto II (10-17) 91-83 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 91-83. Pyrinto II made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Jyvaskyla BA was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was guard Justus Kilpinen (193-93) who scored 17 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Point guard Lassi Kilpinen (185-93) chipped in 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Jarvenpaa was trailing by 10 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 29-27 charge of HBA-Marsky, which allowed them to win the game. They made 27-of-31 free shots (87.1 percent) during the game. Jarvenpaa was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was point guard Edon Maxhuni (186-98) who scored 27 points and 4 assists. Center Hannes Polla (212-98) chipped in 25 points and 8 rebounds. HBA-Marsky's coach Antti Koskelainen used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest.
