Tyrone
Nelson
American Forward Tyrone Nelson (206-F-85, agency: Interperformances) had a great game in the last round for Pyrinto, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 39.
The 31-year old player had a double-double of 21 points and 12 rebounds, while his team beat Korihait (#10, 5-31) 85-71. Pyrinto maintains the 8th position in Finnish Korisliiga. Pyrinto is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 14-22 record. Nelson just recently signed at Pyrinto, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Former New Mexico State University star has very solid stats this year. Nelson is in league's top in rebounds (8th best: 7.8rpg) and averages impressive 62.5% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 24-year old American Antwan Scott (188-G-92) of KTP Basket. Scott had a very good evening with 40 points and 4 rebounds. Bad luck as KTP Basket lost that game 90-100 to the higher-ranked Helsinki Seagulls (#3, 25-11). This loss caused KTP Basket to drop to 9th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 13-23 record. Scott is one of the most experienced players at KTP Basket and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.0ppg (#2). He also registered 4.5 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Gary Johnson (198-F-91) of Korihait (#10). Johnson scored 20 points and grabbed eleven rebounds (!!!). Despite Johnson's great performance Korihait lost 71-85 to slightly higher-ranked Pyrinto (#8, 14-22). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Korihait can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 5-31 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Too bad for Johnson he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Johnson has individually a great season in Finland. After 14 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 4.8rpg (9th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Damon Williams (201-F-73) of Lapua - 12 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists
5. Carl Lindbom (206-SF-91) of Helsinki Seagulls - 12 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Papa Dia (208-F-87) of BC Nokia - 21 points and 8 rebounds
7. Jason Conley (196-G-81) of Helsinki Seagulls - 18 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Monyea Pratt (196-SF-85) of KTP Basket - 13 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists
9. Sefton Barrett (196-SF-83) of BC Nokia - 13 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Antero Lehto (185-PG-84) of Pyrinto - 24 points and 4 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
