Here is the weekly review of the top performing Finnish players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an experienced international small forward Shawn Huff (198-84, college: Valparaiso, currently plays in Germany). He led Deutsche Bank Skyliners to a victory over the closely-ranked Science City Jena (10-18) 69-61 in the German BBL in Monday night's game. Huff was MVP of the game. He recorded 16 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 26 minutes on the court. Fraport Skyliners Frankfurt (13-17) is placed tenth in the BBL. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Huff has relatively good stats this year: 11.2ppg, 3.0rpg, 2FGP: 60.5%(23-38), 3FGP: 40.8% and FT: 73.9% in 11 games he played so far. He is currently a member of the Finnish senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international point guard Petteri Koponen (194-88, currently plays in Spain). Koponen could not help FC Barcelona (18-9) to beat Valencia Basket (20-7). He scored 5 points and added 3 assists. FC Barcelona was badly defeated 76-59 on the road by the second-ranked Valencia Basket. This season Koponen averages: 8.9ppg, 2.3rpg, 2.3apg, 2FGP: 52.3%, 3FGP: 34.2% and FT: 90.9%(40-44). Ex-Honka Espoo Playboys player is in the roster of the Finnish senior national team.

   #3. The Finnish player who performed third best last week abroad was an international guard Roope Ahonen (186-90, agency: Octagon Europe, currently plays in Greece). He contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Aiolos Trikallon (10-16) crushing them 73-53 in the Greek A1 on Thursday night. Ahonen scored 10 points and had 3 steals in 24 minutes. Kolossos H Hotels (13-13) is placed seventh in the A1. They ended the series of three consecutive loses. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. This year Ahonen's overall stats are: 7.3ppg, 1.8rpg, 2.1apg, 2FGP: 59.5%(22-37), 3FGP: 38.8% and FT: 75.8% in 26 games. Ex-ToPo Helsinki player is also a member of the Finnish senior national team.

   #4. Guard Sasu Salin (191-91, currently plays in Spain) was not able to help Gran Canaria in their game against Baskonia (19-8) in the Spanish Liga Endesa. He scored 5 points. Gran Canaria was defeated 95-90 in Vitoria by the higher-ranked Baskonia (#4). There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be important. Salin's total stats this season are: 6.8ppg and 2.1rpg. He is also Finnish national team player.

   #5. International power forward Alexander Madsen (207-95, currently plays in Czech Republic) was not able to secure a victory for USK Praha (16-15) in their last game. Despite Madsen's very good performance the fourth-placed USK Praha (16-15) lost 57-72 in Opava to the lower-ranked (#5) BK Opava in the Places 1-6 group. He was the top scorer with 15 points. Madsen also added 6 rebounds in 26 minutes. It was USK Praha's third consecutive loss in a row. This year Madsen has relatively solid stats: 10.5ppg, 5.6rpg, 1.9apg and 1.4bpg in 34 games. He plays currently for the Finnish national team.

Power forward Erik Murphy (208-90, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management, college: Florida, currently plays in France) managed to help Strasbourg IG to win against the 14th-ranked Cholet Basket (10-18) 85-68 in the French ProA on Saturday night. Murphy recorded only 4 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Strasbourg IG (19-9) is placed fourth in the ProA. It was his team's ninth consecutive victory in a row. It's Murphy's first season with the team. His total stats this year are: 8.6ppg, 3.3rpg and 1.3apg. Murphy is a naturalized American. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Finnish National Team roster. Strangely Murphy has never played in Finland.

International shooting guard Antti Kanervo (192-89, agency: Blacktop Management, currently plays in France) was the main contributor in a Chorale de Roanne's victory against the closely-ranked SO Maritime Boulogne (10-18) 86-73 in the French ProB (second division) in Saturday night's game. He was the best player in that game. Kanervo recorded 16 points and added 3 passes in 31 minutes. Chorale de Roanne Basket (12-15) is placed 13th in the ProB. This year Kanervo's total stats are: 9.4ppg, 1.3rpg and 1.5apg in 26 games. He is also Finnish national team player.

Forward Matti Nuutinen (202-90, also represented by Blacktop Management, currently plays in France) is a teammate of previously mentioned Antti Kanervo and both played together in the last French ProB game. Nuutinen contributed to a Chorale de Roanne's victory against the closely-ranked SO Maritime Boulogne (10-18) 86-73. He recorded 12 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Nuutinen has averaged so far 6.8ppg and 2.7rpg. He plays currently for the Finnish national team.

International power forward Tuukka Kotti (205-81, college: Providence, currently plays in Germany) was the major contributor in a Crailsheim Merlins' victory against the seventh-ranked Oettinger Rockets Gotha (16-14) 100-89 in the German ProA (second division) on Wednesday night. Kotti scored 17 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in a mere 16 minutes. Crailsheim Merlins (25-5) is placed second in the ProA. It was his team's ninth consecutive victory in a row. Kotti has averaged so far 9.6ppg, 5.9rpg and 1.6apg in 28 games. He is also in the roster of the Finnish national team.

Point guard Jamar Wilson (185-84, college: Albany, currently plays in Spain) helped Movil Estudiantes win their game against the league outsider La ICL Manresa (4-23) 95-90 in the Spanish Liga Endesa in Sunday night's game. Wilson scored only 4 points and added 3 assists. Movistar Estudiantesis placed second in the Liga Endesa. Wilson has averaged so far 8.1ppg, 1.2rpg and 1.5apg. He is a naturalized American. Wilson is an international player who is currently on the senior Finnish National Team roster. He used to play for Honka Espoo Playboys in Finnish league.

   #11. International forward Anton Odabasi (206-95, currently plays in Turkey) couldn't help Trabzonspor in their game against Anadolu Efes in the Turkish BSL. Odabasi cannot count Friday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only 3 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 18 minutes. His team was crushed by 23 points 100-77. Odabasi has averaged so far 0.7ppg and 1.4rpg in 14 games. He plays currently for the Finnish national team.

Kauhajoki - Salon Vilpas 88-77 Kauhajoki held off Salon Vilpas to force the decisive seventh game in the semifinal series. The game was mostly controlled by Kauhajoen Karhu. Salon Vilpas managed to win third quarter 16-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kataja Basket - Helsinki Seagulls 91-71 Kataja Basket fired past Helsinki Seagulls to secure Korisliiga Finals birth. The game was mostly controlled by Joensuun Kataja. Helsinki Seagulls managed to win fourth quarter 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Joensuun Kataja looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists.
