Bourges claimed the third straight LFB title. They overcame Lattes Montpellier for the second straight road win tonight to bring home the 12th overall LFB trophy. Nwal-Endene Miyem (188-PF-88) stepped up with 16 points to lead the winners. Bourges are now one title away from LFB most successful team Clermont-Ferrand (13 titles). Bourges dominated from start to finish in this one. They jumped to a comfortable 15:9 lead after the opening quarter. Bourges boosted the lead in the second frame. The visitors accumulated a 37:29 halftime buffer. Celine Dumerc (169-G-82) opened a double-digit lead for the visiting team midway through the third term. Lattes Montpellier managed to get within 8 points 43:51 at the final intermission. But Bourges did not allow the hosts to get any closer. The visitors boosted the gap to 15 points in the fourth period and never looked back en route to the win. Celine Dumerc finished with 12 points, while Emmeline Ndongue (192-C-83) added 11 points and 7 rebounds for Bourges. Geraldine Robert (183-F-80) responded with 15 points for Lattes Montpellier. Ana Lelas (183-G/F-83) delivered 13 points in the loss.
Lattes Montpellier outscored Nantes Reze in Paris tonight to clinch the French Cup title. Gaelle Skrela (178-G-83, agency: Josep and Nicolas) fired 24 points to pace the winners. She was named the MVP of the game. Nantes Reze spurred ahead in the opening frame. They recorded a 19:16 lead ten minutes into the clash. But Montpellier turned things around in the second frame. They went on a 16:7 rally to accumulate a 32:26 halftime advantage. Lattes Montpellier stepped on the gas in the third term. They fired 21 points and posted a 53:42 lead heading into the fourth period. Basko put Nantes Reze within one 64:65 with 17 seconds remaining in regulation. Robert split free throws to make it a 2-point game. Then Kristen Mann (187-F-83, agency: Josep and Nicolas, college: UCSB) added one more point from the stripe to seal the win for Lattes Montpellier. Fatimatou Sacko (177-F-85) finished with 11 points, while Kristen Mann added 9 points for the winners. Bernadette Ngoyisa (195-C-82) responded with 20 points for Nantes Reze. Sarah Michel (180-SG-89) had 12 points in the loss.
