Charleville wins NM1 Playoffs and promotion to ProB - May 27, 2012

NM1, Playoffs Final: Charleville - Blois 75-63

The game was mostly controlled by Charleville-Mezieres. Blois managed to win second period 23-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Fabien Calvez (187-84, college: Evansville) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 4 steals. American-British power forward Tafari Toney (203-86, agency: JEMsports) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. Finnish forward Ville Kaunisto (204-82) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds and guard Gary Staelens (189-84) added 21 points in the effort for Blois.

NM1 Round 34: Regular season is over, St Quentin wins promotion for ProB - May 6, 2012

The Regular Season in NM1 just ended. St Quentin is No.1 with 27-7 record and they won the promotion for ProB. Second ranked Souffel advanced directly to the Final four, while other six teams will meet in the Quarterfinals (May 19). Final Four will be played on May 26 and 27.

Orchesien BC was defeated by Sorgues in a tough game on the road 76-83. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Orchesien BC. The hosts trailed by 11 points after first quarter, but they rallied back getting tie in the second period and winning the second half and won the game by 7 points. Guard Arnaud Thinon (178-87) fired 16 points and 7 assists for the winners. Serbian forward Slobodan Ocokoljic (204-80, college: Weber St.) chipped in 18 points. American guard Jahsha Bluntt (198-84, college: Delaware St.) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and center Olivier Gouez (219-84) added 9 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side.

American forward Josh Almanson (205-82, college: Bowling Green) fired 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Center Nils Gouacide (208-84) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. Five Vendee Challans players scored in double figures. Vendee Challans' coach Olivier Le Minor used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Yohann Smail (197-90) had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Adrien Daube (193-89) chipped in 16 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists during the contest. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Etendard de Brest. The game without a history. Saint-Quentin led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Etendard de Brest to just 6 points in first quarter. Saint-Quentin players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Julien Lesieu (199-F-83) (199-83) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 8 rebounds. Naturalized American guard Jimmal Ball (178-78, college: Akron, agency: ACMT) contributed with 18 points and 8 assists for the winners. Forward Julien Doreau (200-83) replied with 16 points and 9 rebounds and guard Antoine Liorel (181-89) added 14 points in the effort for Etendard de Brest.
