The USA posted another victory in FIBA U19 World Championship as they rolled over the European side. First three quarters were enough to win over France 71:55.
The USA opened the game with 19-10 lead to finish the first quarter. The team did not stop in the second period and allowed French side to score another 10 point, while taking 35:20 halftime advantage. The USA posted another victory in FIBA U19 World Championship as they rolled over the European side. First three quarters were enough to win over France 71:55. The USA opened the game with 19-10 lead to finish the first quarter. The team did not stop in the second period and allowed French side to score another 10 point, while taking 35:20 halftime advantage. The favorites also needed 24-17 in the third period to feel more comfortable at the end of the game. France managed to win the last quarter as they beat USA 18-12. That win however did not allow them to catch up with the opponent. Seth Curry (6'1''-G) led the winners with 12 points for their 2-0 record. Gordon Hayward (6'8''-G/F) nailed 11 and Ashton Gibbs (6'2''-G) posted 10. Alexis Tanghe (6'10''-F/C-90) finished the night with 16 points in the losing effort and Andrew Albicy (5'10''-G-90) scored 15. USA showed 54.5 % from the filed, while France had 34.3%. The latter however had a better percentage in free throw and three-point columns. The USA are already assured of moving to the second, and face Egypt on Saturday in their final pool game. France play Iran and must win to ensure progress to the next stage.

The 3rd Euroleague french team (Orleans) signed two new players this morning. The young french center, Ludovic Vaty (206-C-88, college: Moraine Valley CC), leaves Pau after 3 seasons and joins the Coach Herve team. He cumuled 11.6ppg and 7.7rpg during the 2008/2009 season and he was the rare satisfaction of Pau.The second add is Justin Doellman (206-F-85, college: Xavier). France led from start to finish posting an overwhelming victory at the end. Christophe Leonard (199-F-90) stepped up with 20 points, 10 boards and 4 assists to lead the way for the Les Bleues. Nicolas Lang (196-G-90, agency: Beo Basket) contributed 20 points in the win. France limited Egypt to 12 points in the starting stanza to accumulate a 13-point lead at the first break. The Europeans continued to dominate in the second stanza as they escaped to a 26-point buffer at halftime. Egypt could threaten the margin in the third stanza despite scoring 13 points. France stayed calm and confident building a 37-point advantage into the final quarter. The Les Bleues cruised to the win in the fourth frame. Jonathan Bourhis (182-G-90) finished with 19 points in the victory. Adham Elsayed responded with 15 points for Egypt. Abdelhalim had 9 points in the loss. France outrebounded Egypt 36:29 and held them to just 34% from the field. France will take on the USA, while Egypt will be challenged by Iran tomorrow.
Cholet Basket: lost in Eurocup qualifications; EuroChallenge: took 1st place (6-0) in Group C of Regular Season, took 1st place (5-1) in Group I, lost 75-77 to La Fortezza Bologna in the Final (!!!)
