EuroCup 1/8 Finals: Lattes Montpellier - AEL 58-51
AEL did a great job in Game 1 and Lattes Montpellier was not able to do the same. The hosts celebrated 58-51 win in Game 2, but still they have 13 points deficit in these two meetings.

AEL did a great job in Game 1 and Lattes Montpellier was not able to do the same. The hosts celebrated 58-51 win in Game 2, but still they have 13 points deficit in these two meetings. AEL opened the second game better going on the 0-7 run. By the end of the first period hosts managed to cut the deficit to 14-19. In the second frame, the tempo slowed down as both teams struggle offensively. After a low scoring period in which AEL was limited to only 6 points, the HT score was tied at 25 each. In third quarter, the tempo picked up somewhat but it was still AEL who controlled flow of the game. Even though Montpellier players were able to win the third 14-11, they still trailed on aggregate. In the final 10 minutes, hosts tried their best in order to further cut the deficit but AEL players were able to fend off any comeback attempt. So despite losing this contest 58-51 they still had the reason to celebrate the passage to the QFinals. Chamique Holdsclaw (188-F-77, agency: Merit Sports, college: Tennessee) stepped up for the Cypriot powerhouse with 18 points and 10 rebounds. She was followed by Biljana Pesovic (180-G-83) who chipped in 11 points. On the other side, Pauline Krawczyk (180-F-85) had 21 points and 7 boards for Montpellier. Constance Jinks (170-G-81, college: UNLV) came off the bench to add 15 for the hosts. AEL will face Nadezhda in QFinals and they will hosts Game 1 on February 18th.

Mondeville advanced to EuroCup Quarterfinals with 153-146 in two games against Botas. In the second, the hosts were able to erase the deficit and turn the game to their favor after dominating most of the contest. Mondeville advanced to EuroCup Quarterfinals with 153-146 in two games against Botas. In the second, the hosts were able to erase the deficit and turn the game to their favor after dominating most of the contest. After a close opening, the game was tied at 12 with 4 minutes left in the first period. Then Mondeville went on the 9-2 run to close the first half gaining 21-14 lead. More of the same continued in the second quarter, when hosts were able to further extend their lead. After another 10- 4 run they already had more comfortable lead which at the halftime was 47-26. Than after the halftime break, visiting team started playing little better. Thanks to tightening of their defense they were able to create transition opportunities. They won the third period by 18-24 but they were still trailing 65-50. In the final period Mondeville took the game over again and was able to routinely keep their aggregate advantage. They won the final period by 1 point which was enough for overall win of 86-70 and passage into the next round. Temeka Johnson (160-G-82, agency: Ronsport, college: LSU) was a key player for the French squad tonight collecting 22 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Lenae Williams (186-F-79, college: De Paul) secured a great help adding 17 points. Courtney Paris (193-C-87, college: Oklahoma) had 18 points and 12 rebounds for Botas. She was closely followed by Sharnee Zoll (170-G-86, college: Virginia) who added 17 points. In the QFinals, Mondeville will visit Saarlouis on February 18th for Game 1. 2nd Leg of the mathcup is scheduled for February 25th.

Bourges comfortably saw off the high-flying Perfumerias 69:64 with 3000 fans in the gym. The French side tied the series at 1-1 and will head back to Spain on February 10th.

Bourges comfortably saw off the high-flying Perfumerias 69:64 with 3000 fans in the gym. The French side tied the series at 1-1 and will head back to Spain on February 10th. In the second quarter, Bourges their groove and Emmeline Ndongue made it 35:28. Miyem closed the half at 38:29 as the teams disappeared in the lockers. The guests however were almost able to get their opponents at arms length as they held onto a slender two point loss with 43:41. Bourges however grabbed 53:46 deficit at the end of thirty minutes. In the final period the lead did not change as the hosts controlled the game. Miyem made it 59:53 and Ndongue scored for 61:54. Anael Lardy later was too good from the free throw line to add some points for the bigger lead. She also scored the last four points of the hosts that called Game 3 in Spain. Both teams will have to head back to Salamanca again next week for the deciding game on February 10th. Styliani Kaltsidou (188-C/F-83) notched 16 points to lead all the winners. Emmeline Ndongue (190-C-83) followed her with 13 and Anael Lardy (170-G-87) added 12. Sancho Lyttle (193-C-83, college: Houston) collected 20 points and 16 rebounds in defeat, De Mondt Anke posted 14 and Le'Coe Willingham (183-C-81, college: Auburn) added 13.
