Belser's 29 points and 9 rebounds give him NM1 Player of the Week award (by BasketStore) - Oct 31, 2011

Corey Belser
29-year old forward Corey Belser (200-F-82) put on an amazing game in the last round for second-ranked Charleville and receives a Eurobasket.com NM1 Player of the Week award for round 6.
He had the game-high 29 points adding nine rebounds and five assists for Charleville in his team's victory, helping them to crush Brest (#12, 2-4) with 16-point margin 98-82. Charleville is placed at 2nd position in NM1. They are still close to the very top. Charleville would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 5-1 record. In the team's last game Belser had a remarkable 81.8% from 2-point range. He turned to be Charleville's top player in his first season with the team. Corey Belser averages this season 15.3ppg and 6.8rpg.

Second best performed player last round was Gary Staelens (189-G-84) of Blois. He is former international guard in his first season at Blois. In the last game Staelens recorded impressive 30 points, 2 rebounds and 6 assists. Of course he lead Blois to another comfortable win 87-71 over slightly higher-ranked Roche (#3, 5-1) being unquestionably team leader. This victory allowed Blois to move up to 5th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 4-2 record is not bad and everything may still change. Staelens is a newcomer at Blois and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to another Blois' star - forward Ville Kaunisto (204-F-82). Kaunisto scored 12 points and grabbed thirteen rebounds (!!!). He was another key player of Blois, helping his team with a 87-71 easy win against slightly higher-ranked Roche (#3, 5-1). Blois needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 4 victories and 2 lost games. Kaunisto has a great season in France. After only 6 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 12.5rpg (#1 in league).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Mouhammadou Jaiteh (201-F/C-94) of CFBB - 23 points and 10 rebounds
5. Yassine Bassine (198-G-84) of Sorgues - 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists
6. Damien Griffin (203-C/F-80) of Sorgues - 22 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Ian Caskill (207-C-81) of Cognac - 12 points and 13 rebounds
8. Julien Lesieu (199-F-83) of St Quentin - 19 points and 7 rebounds
9. Lavar Simmons (201-F/C-83) of Roche - 13 points, 13 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Vaidotas Pridotkas (200-F-84) of Brest - 22 points and 5 rebounds

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
