Jeff Varem
The American swingman Varem Jeff (198-G/F-83, college: Washington St.) are talking about his experiences in France:

Where do you live now?
I live in Goodyear Arizona

What Basketball team are you playing for now?
Currently, i do not have a team. i decided to take this time off so i can concentrate more on my Sporting Apparel Brand Company (ADZA LLC)

How was your experience with Pau Orthez?
My time with Pau Orthez was great. The environment was more like a family than Business. and that included from the president, team manager, coaches, and players. they took care of their players.

What exactly Happened with Limoges? The club said that it was some administrative Situation that didnt allow the LNB to validate the problem?
I loved the city of Limoges, the fans were great, we had a team that i felt we were going to make the playoffs, but i dont know what exactly was the problem. i was told by the management it was complicated. my Coach went into office and pleaded with management that he made his team around what Jeff brought to the table (offensively and most importantly defensively). Letting Jeff go was going to be hard on him. The management thought otherwise. So we parted ways

What assess do you make from your time with ASVEL ? You were fired because you didn't follow their medical instructions after your knee injury.
First I would like to thank Asvel for giving me the opportunity to play for their organization. i had a minor knee situation and the team doctor asked me to take a cortisone injection along with 5 Hyalurolic acid injections. I agreed to take the Hyalurolic Injections but i was not comfortable with cortisone injection. My decision was based on the fact that cortisone will cause more harm to me in the long run. i asked the management for a second opinion from my french doctor in Pau (Dr Bouvard). well the management did not agree with my opinion. so they said i was in breach of contract and therefore it was terminated.

Have you got any propositions to French team for this saison ?
No, i didnt. before the season started, Miloud was trying to get me with Nanterre but they decided to go with someone else. After Asvel, it has been really hard for me to get a good job in Europe. i had teams say or agents ask me, what happened in Asvel and why are they saying such things about you. even when i started working with Miloud Dihane, he told me, its hard to get you a job here in France. Teams want to know more about you and if you were who your previous team (Asvel) said you were.

Do you like or Dislike France?
I love france, i made alot of friends playing in france. People who i considered good friends. (Xane Dalmeida, Laurent Foirest, Yohane Sangare, Modibo Niakate, Amara Sy, Noah Diakiate, Thierry Rupert, Coach Girard) the list goes on. I also have family in France and whenever i am in Europe. i always stop in France to spent time with friends and family.

Tell me about the Nigerian National Team?
I havent been with my National team since world championship in Japan 2006. but this summer i will be a part of the Nigerian national team that will be playing in the Olympics qualifiers in Venezuela. i think we have a good chance to make it to the Olympics.

After you retire in basketball, What will you do?
I think i can be a great coach. i will like to coach the game of basketball when i retire. (professionally)

Have you a different passion in your life?
I have a Sporting Apparel Company headquartered in America and with branches in Asia, Europe and Africa. This takes all my time when am not playing basketball.

Are you married and do you have kids?
I am currently Engaged and i have a daughter.

Do you speak French?
je comprends toujours le franais mais c'est difficile de parler car chaque fois que je quitte la je n'ai plus personne qui parler alors je perds l'habitude.
