French U16 National Team opened the international tournament in Riom with a confident win. They stunned England in the opener. Stephane Gombauld (200-PF-97) came up with 20 points to lead the winners. France started the game aggressively taking a 25:6 lead after ten minutes. France maintained the lead throughout the second quarter. The hosts ensured a 45:18 halftime advantage. France stretched the gap in the third term. The home team accumulated a 64:24 lead heading ino the fourth frame. England managed to narrow the margin in the final frame. Lucas Dussoulier (196-PG-96) finished with 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Cavaliere added 10 points for the winners. Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye and Joseph Swindells answered with 8 points each in the loss.
