Olesia Malashenko to miss 2-6 months due to foot injury - Sep 2, 2012

Bad news for Olesia Malashenko (189-PF-91, agency: LBM Management) and her team Arras. The Ukrainian forward will miss next 2-6 months due to injury, according to La Voix du Nord (via Catch-and-Shoot.com). Malashenko has plantar fasciitis on her foot. The French squad already reacted and brought in Serbian player Ines Ajanovic. Olesia Malashenko already played for Arras from 2009 to 2011. She spent last season with Russian squad Vologda-Chevakata. There the player averaged 9.8 points and 3.3 rebounds for 12 games. She also added 7.4 ppg and 2.7 rpg for 25 appearances in domestic championship. In the past, Malashenko played for Dexia Namur and Odessa. With Dexia she won the Belgian league title and Cup in 2009. Last summer Olesia Malashenko shined at U20 EuroBasket in Serbia. She had 16.4 ppg and 9.9 rpg for 9 games with Ukrainian U20 NT. Malashenko very successful played for Ukrainian youth National Teams also in the past.

Avenir - Roche 66-71 Roche conquered LF2 title. They beat Avenir on the road in the decisive third game of the Finals. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Avenir won third quarter 19-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Roche won last quarter 17-14. 24 personal fouls committed by Avenir helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities.
