The Regular Season in NM1 just started.

Rennes - St Chamond 79-78
The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Saint Chamond won third quarter 21-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Union Rennes dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Saint Chamond's 26. They outrebounded Saint Chamond 36-25 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Bernard M'Poy (197-F-87) who helped to win the game recording 22 points. Senegalese guard El Kabir Pene (190-84) contributed with 19 points for the winners. point guard Romain Tillon (180-82, agency: ACMT) answered with 20 points and 4 assists and naturalized DR Congolese guard Jean-Paul Landu-Bongo (187-85) added 17 points in the effort for Saint Chamond. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game.

Challans was ahead by 6 points after three quarters before a 25-14 charge of Blois, which allowed them to win the game. They brought some defensive toughness making 11 blocks. Finnish forward Ville Kaunisto (205-F-82) (205-82) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds for the winners and American forward Daviin Davis (193-85, college: Weber St.) chipped in 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 blocks. At the losing side American forward Matthew Pilgrim (203-87, college: Oklahoma St., agency: KMG Sports Management) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Fabien Herard (198-79) scored 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.

It was a very good performance for guard Faycal Sahraoui (188-79) who helped to win the game recording 13 points. British forward Andrew Thomson (205-84, college: Catawba, agency: JEMsports) contributed with 9 points for the winners. Forward Yohann Smail (198-90) answered with 14 points and swingman Guillaume Pons (198-79) added 12 points in the effort for JA Vichy. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 16-13 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 16-10. Strangely Sorgues outrebounded Quimper UJAP 48-34 including 35 on the defensive glass. Swingman Florian Thibedore (193-90) nailed 26 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winning side and Spanish point guard Carlos Cherry (184-79, agency: Global Sports Plaza) accounted for 17 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists. American Quincy Hankins-Cole (203-90) came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Arnaud Thinon (178-87) added 19 points respectively for Sorgues in the defeat.

Naturalized Algerian point guard Ahmed Fellah (180-81) contributed with 13 points and 9 assists for the winners. Angers BC 49's coach Vincent Lavandier used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Travarus Bennett (202-79, college: Minnesota) answered with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Anthony Christophe (190-83) added 10 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for Monaco.

Talib Zanna left Nanterre - 1 hour ago
27-year old Nigerian forward Talib Zanna (206-104kg-90, college: Pittsburgh, agency: Three Eye Sports) left JSF Nanterre (ProA). In 25 games he had 7.8ppg and 3.6rpg this season. He helped them to win the cup. Zanna also played 19 games in FIBA Europe Cup where he recorded 6.2ppg and 3.4rpg. The last season he was tested by the Thunder in NBA.
