After 5 rounds played we can already see who rules in the ProA and who belongs to weaker ones. There was no lack of interesting games this round. The round ended with extra overtimes, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

The game between third ranked ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (3-2) and fourth ranked Strasbourg IG (4-1) was the most important one in the last round on Monday night. ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket was defeated by Strasbourg IG in Strasbourg 80-66. It was a key game for the top position in the league. ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. American-Dominican swingman Ricardo Greer (197-78, college: Pittsburgh) stepped up and scored 15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and the former international center Alexis Ajinca (215-88, agency: Priority Sports) chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds. ProA top team - Gravelines-Dunkerque (4-1) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat sixth ranked STB Le Havre (2-3) 75-66. American point guard Dwight Buycks (190-89, college: Marquette) nailed 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side and Ousmane Camara accounted for 11 points and 15 rebounds. Gravelines-Dunkerque's coach Christian Monschau allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American center Graham Brown (205-84, college: Michigan) came up with 11 points and 9 rebounds for STB Le Havre in the defeat. Gravelines-Dunkerque maintains first place with 4-1 record, which they share with 3 other teams. STB Le Havre lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Gravelines-Dunkerque will play against Le Mans (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. STB Le Havre will play against JDA Dijon (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Chorale de Roanne (#16) forced the game against Le Mans (#3) into an overtime, but lost by seven points 65-72 on Saturday night. The best player for the winners was Khalid El-Amin who scored 16 points and 5 assists. Coleman Collins produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds for the guests. Le Mans have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Chorale de Roanne stay at the bottom place with four games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Le Mans will meet at home league's leader Gravelines-Dunkerque in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Chorale de Roanne will play against JSF Nanterre (#5).
A very interesting game took place in Boulazac. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 11th ranked Boulazac Basket (2-3) to ninth ranked Paris-Levallois (3-2) 74-71 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Boulazac Basket. Sean May orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 9 rebounds. Paris-Levallois moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted Boulazac Basket dropped to the ninth position with three games lost. Paris-Levallois' next round opponent will be Limoges CSP Elite (#11) at home which should be theoretically an easy game. Boulazac Basket will play against the league's second-placed Chalon/Saor.
Seventh ranked Cholet (3-2) beat at home 15th ranked Poitiers (1-4) by 15 points 86-71, which is the biggest margin this round on Saturday night. Terrell Everett stepped up and scored 20 points and 9 assists for the winners. Poitiers' coach Rudy Nelhomme rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cholet moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Poitiers lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth position with four games lost. Cholet will face Sluc Nancy (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Poitiers will play against Strasbourg IG.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 5: Orleans lost to Chalon on the opponent's court 80-85. Limoges unfortunately lost to Dijon in a home game 65-69. Nancy recorded a loss to Nanterre on the road 78-82.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 26 points and 8 rebounds by Ilian Evtimov of Chalon.

Very expected game when 13th ranked Entente Orleans 45 (1-4) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Chalon/Saor (4-1) 85-80 on Monday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Entente Orleans 45 won third quarter 21-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Chalon/Saor looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked JDA Dijon (2-3) defeated on the road higher ranked Limoges CSP Elite (2-3) 69-65 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. JDA Dijon made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. Limoges CSP Elite was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American power forward Andre Harris (201-85, college: Fair Dickinson) stepped up and scored 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and forward Jeremy Leloup (202-87) chipped in 13 points. Four JDA Dijon players scored in double figures. Ludovic Vaty (206-C-88, college: Moraine Valley CC) will have to end his pro career. Heart problems caused a tough and sad decision for the promising player. Ludovic Vaty spent the last two seasons in Gravelines. Last season the centre posted 12.7 points and 5.5 boards per game in EuroChallenge. Michel Ipouck (199-F-86), Vincent Mendy (204-F/C-83, agency: Fusion Sports) and Abgue Barakaou (185-G-81) have decided to leave Chartres. The team finished the season in the 11th place in NM1 League. They won 17 out of 34 games played. Michel Ipouck posted 10.6 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game in the season.
