27-year old guard Aurelie Cibert (168-G-85, agency: Josep and Nicolas) put on an amazing game in the last round for COB Calais and receives a Eurobasket.com LF2 Player of the Week award for round 7. She had the game-high 21 points adding three rebounds and seven assists for COB Calais in her team's victory, helping them to outclass, the league's bottom-ranked team Dunkerque (#12, 0-6) with 33-point margin 93-60. COB Calais is placed at 5th position in French league. They are still close to the very top. COB Calais would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 4-1 record. In the team's last game Cibert had a remarkable four three-pointers out of 7 attempts. She has many years of experience at COB Calais, through which he has constantly improved. Cibert has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in assists (2nd best: 4.6apg) and averages solid 3.4spg and 57.9% FGP.
Second best performed player last round was Kierra Mallard (190-F/C-90). She is American forward in her first season at COB Calais. In the last game Mallard recorded impressive double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds. Of course together with Cibert she helped COB Calais with another comfortable win outscoring Dunkerque (#12, 0-6) 93-60. This victory allowed COB Calais to move up to 5th position in the standings. Her team lost just one game this season, while they won 4 matches. Mallard is a newcomer at COB Calais and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.
Third place about best performers goes to forward Dace Brumermane (187-F/C-81, agency: Josep and Nicolas) of Dunkerque (#12). Brumermane scored 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Despite Brumermane's great performance Dunkerque lost 60-93 to the higher-ranked COB Calais (#5, 4-1). But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates. Dunkerque can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have awful season losing so far all 6 games. Too bad for Brumermane she does not play for a better team. But maybe if she did, her season stats would not be that high. Brumermane has individually a great season in France. After only 5 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.0ppg (3rd best) and rebounds with 8.2rpg (9th best).
Other top performing players last week: 4. Shenita Landry (188-F-87) of Laveyron - 27 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists 5. Oumou Toure (190-F-88) of LTB 29 - 17 points and 11 rebounds 6. Johana Tayeau (173-G-89) of Roche - 15 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists 7. Aida Fall (192-C-86) of Limoges - 17 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists 8. Lucie Martine Barba (185-F-92) of Limoges - 11 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists 9. Jenny Fouasseau (179-F-92) of COB Calais - 17 points and 4 assists 10. Maud Lesoudard (185-F-88) of Reims - 16 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists
The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
