   #1. This week's number one is an international center Sandrine Gruda (193-87, currently plays in Euroleague). She was the major contributor in an UMMC Ekaterinburg's victory against the fifth-ranked CCC Polkowice (1-3) 66-57 in the Euroleague in Wednesday night's game. Gruda recorded 14 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks in 24 minutes on the court. UMMC Ekaterinburg (3-0) is placed second in group C. So far her team won all three games in the Regular Season. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. It's Gruda's sixth year with the team. She has relatively good stats this season: 14.0ppg, 5.3rpg, 2FGP: 45.7% and FT: 62.5% in the three games she played so far. Gruda is currently a member of the French senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international center Elodie Godin (191-85, currently plays in Euroleague). She led her Italian team Familia Schio to a victory against the sixth-ranked MKB Euroleasing (1-3) 66-60 in the Euroleague last Wednesday. Godin scored 12 points, had 8 rebounds and dished 3 assists. Famila Wuber Schio (3-0) is placed first in group B. So far her team won all three games in the Regular Season. But the season just started, so everything may happen. Godin is currently fourth on the list of best rebounders and also on the list of best blockers (fourth place). This season she averages: 9.3ppg, 9.7rpg, 2.3apg, 1.3bpg, 2FGP: 56.5%(13-23). Godin is in the roster of the French senior national team.

   #3. The French player who performed third best last week abroad was an international center Isabelle Yacoubou-Dehoui (190-86, currently plays in Euroleague). She contributed to an easy victory against the fifth-ranked IMOS Brno (1-2) crushing them 95-63 in the Euroleague on Wednesday night. Yacoubou-Dehoui recorded 10 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 16 minutes. Spartak Vidnoe Moscow Region (4-0) is placed first in group A. So far her team won all four games in the Regular Season. But the season is still in it's first stage and everything can happen. It's Yacoubou-Dehoui's first year with the team. This season her overall stats are: 9.3ppg, 5.3rpg, 2FGP: 54.8% in the four games. Yacoubou-Dehoui is also a member of the French senior national team.

   #4. An experienced power forward Nicole Antibe (187-74, currently plays in Italy), who plays in the Italian A1 could not help Taranto (3-2) to beat Familia Schio (3-1). She scored 8 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Taranto was defeated 71-65 at home by the second-ranked Familia Schio. But there are still lots of games to play and it's a long way to go. Antibe's total stats this season are: 8.0ppg, 4.4rpg and 1.2spg. She used to play for the French national team back in 2005.

International guard Anael Lardy (170-87, agency: Josep and Nicolas, currently plays in Czech Republic) contributed to an easy victory against the eighth-ranked Valosun Brno (4-6) crushing them 100-72 in the Czech Republic ZBL last Saturday. Lardy recorded 6 points in 26 minutes. ZVVZ USK Praha (10-0) is placed first in the ZBL. So far her team won all ten games in the Regular Season. It's Lardy's first season with the team. Lardy belongs to league's best passers and is ranked #2 with 3.6apg. This year she also averages: 6.0ppg, 2.9rpg and 1.8spg in the 10 games. Lardy plays currently for the French national team.

Guard Audrey Salvi (172-89, currently plays in Belgium) contributed to an easy victory against the ninth-ranked Jeugd Gentson (2-5) crushing them 69-40 in the Belgian Division I on Saturday night. She recorded 7 points. Belfius Namur Capitale (6-1) is placed first in the Division I. It was her team's sixth consecutive victory in a row. Salvi's total stats this season are: 9.3ppg, 2.4rpg and 1.1apg. She is a former U20 international player as she played for the French team three years ago.

Former U20 international point guard Lucie Bouthors (174-88, currently plays in Turkey) managed to help Homend Antakya Belediyesi in a victory against the closely-ranked TED Ankara (1-3) 76-67 in the Turkish TKBL in Sunday night's game. Bouthors recorded only 3 points and had 3 steals in 17 minutes. Homend Antakya Belediyesi (2-2) is placed ninth in the TKBL. This year Bouthors' total stats are: 4.8ppg, 2.3rpg and 2.0apg in the four games. She used to play for the French U20 national team four years ago.

Forward Chloe Westelynck (188-91, currently plays in Belgium) contributed to a 3-point R.Spirou Monceau's victory against the closely-ranked Castors Braine (3-4) 53-50 in the Belgian Division I in Sunday night's game. She recorded only 3 points, 5 rebounds and 2 blocks. Spirou Monceau Charleroi (5-2) is placed fifth in the Division I. Westelynck has averaged so far 9.0ppg, 5.6rpg and 1.3spg. She used to play for the French U20 national team last year.

   #9. Former U20 international forward Jessica Clemencon (188-89, currently plays in Canada) led University of Windsor to a victory over the Carleton (1-1) 58-53 in the Canadian university league CIS last Friday. Clemencon was MVP of the game. She recorded 16 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks in 35 minutes. The University of Windsor has 2-0 record this season. Clemencon is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's her fourth year in University of Windsor's roster. Clemencon has individually a very good season with high stats. She averages: 15.5ppg, 7.0rpg, 1.5apg and 1.5spg in the two games. Clemencon used to play for the French U20 national team three years ago.

   #10. Point guard Onayssa Sbahi (168-93, currently plays in Spain) contributed to an easy victory against the tenth-ranked Real Celta Vigo (1-3) crushing them 61-36 in the Spanish LF2 (12th division) last Saturday. She recorded only 4 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Thetrend Social Cortegada (3-0) is placed second in Group A. So far her team won all three games in the Regular Season. Sbahi has averaged so far 4.3ppg, 2.7rpg, 2.3apg and 1.7spg. She is U18 international player as one years ago she still played for the French national team.


The list of other players, who all have French passport but never been selected to any of French national teams:

   #1. Lucy Karlye (187-C-90, currently plays in Ukraine), who plays in the Ukrainian Higher League (12th division) could not help Dynamo (3-1) to beat Tim-Scuf (2-2). Karlye cannot count Friday's game as one of the best ones. She recorded only 3 points, 7 rebounds and 3 blocks. Dynamo was defeated 75-70 in a derby game by the lower-ranked Tim-Scuf (#4). It was Dynamo's first loss after three consecutive victories. Karlye is ranked third on the list of the best blockers in the league. She has averaged so far 4.8ppg, 4.8rpg and 1.3bpg.

   #2. Valerie Labbe (181-G/F-88, currently plays in Belgium) was not able to help Castors Braine (3-4) in their game against R.Spirou Monceau (5-2) in the Belgian Division I. Labbe recorded 9 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in 29 minutes. But Castors Braine was edged 53-50 on the road by the higher-ranked (#5) R.Spirou Monceau. Labbe has averaged so far 9.0ppg, 8.5rpg, 3.5apg and 3.0spg in the two games she played so far.

   #3. Karolina Piotrkiewicz (190-C-84, agency: LBM Management, college: Liberty, currently plays in Italy) was not able to secure a victory for Valmadrera (2-5) in their game against San Martino (7-0) in the Italian A2 (12th division). She was the second best scorer with 8 points. Piotrkiewicz also added 12 rebounds. The 11th-placed Valmadrera was defeated 53-44 in San Martino di L by the leading San Martino in the North group. Piotrkiewicz belongs to league's best rebounders and is ranked #5. She has averaged so far 9.6ppg and 10.0rpg. Piotrkiewicz has a dual citizenship: Polish and French. Despite her French passport, Piotrkiewicz previously played for the Polish university national team and is probably not eligible to play for the French team.

   #4. Cyrielle Recoura (172-G-91, currently plays in Canada) couldn't help the York University (1-1) in their game against the Brock (1-1) in the Canadian university league CIS. She scored 8 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 33 minutes. The York University (#7) was badly defeated 63-46 in Catharines by the Brock. Recoura has averaged so far 8.0ppg, 6.5rpg and 2.5spg in the two games.

   #5. Magaly Meynadier (17-SG-91, currently plays in Luxembourg) led Musel Pikes to a victory against the ninth-ranked Basket Esch (2-6) 72-60 in the Luxembourg Diekirch League on Saturday night. Meynadier scored 11 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 33 minutes. Musel Pikes (5-1) is placed second in the Diekirch League. It was her team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. Meynadier has been at the team for seven years. This season she has relatively solid stats: 11.2ppg, 8.2rpg, 2.2apg and 1.5spg in the six games. Meynadier is another player who holds two passports: French and Luxembourg.

   #6. Juliette Delaune (177-F-91, currently plays in Canada) couldn't help the Universite de Quebec a Montral in their game against the Concordia in the Canadian CIS. She cannot count Wednesday's game as one of the best ones. Delaune scored only 2 points. It was his first game for Universite de Quebec a Montral this season. Her team was defeated 77-72.

Dos Santos' double-double lands her Player of the Week award - 1 day ago

28-year old center Clarissa Dos Santos (184-C-88) had a great game in the last round for league's best team Bourges and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 9. She had a double-double of 33 points and 12 rebounds, while her team beat Nantes (#7, 4-5) 83-72. It allowed Bourges to consolidate first place in the French LFB. Bourges have a solid 8-1 record. LFB Round 9: Basket Landes lose to Villeneuve D'Ascq - 2 days ago

The game between second ranked Basket Landes (6-3) and seventh ranked Villeneuve D'Ascq (5-4) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Basket Landes was crushed by Villeneuve D'Ascq in Villeneuve 51-84. The game without a history. Villeneuve D'Ascq led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. 22-year old point guard Pauline Lithard (168-PG-94) had a great game in the last round for Bretagne Basket and receives a Eurobasket.com LF2 Player of the Week award for round 9. She had the game-high 28 points adding six assists for Bretagne Basket in her team's victory, helping them to beat Aulnoye (#9, 3-6) 74-68.
